  2. What is ADDIE • ADDIE model is the generic process traditionally used by instructional designers and training developers. • ADDIE has are five phases that stand for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.

  3. THE FIVE STEPS OF ADDIE : • ADDIE is the five-phase instructional design model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.  Each step has an outcome that feeds into the next step in the sequence.

  4. Analysis Phase : • During analysis, the designer identifies the learning problem, the goals and objectives, the audience’s needs, existing knowledge, and any other relevant characteristics.  Analysis also considers the learning environment, any constraints, the delivery options, and the timeline for the project

  5. Design Phase • Given the information from the analysis stage, a preliminary design for the new instruction and/or instructional material will be created. • Design is the systematic method of research, planning, developing, evaluating and managing an instructional process. All of the individual components are incorporated into the method termed instructional design.

  6. Development Phase • The development phase is the process of authoring and producing the materials needed to meet the objectives • Development phase involves the actual creation of any "deliverables" such as a Web page, handouts, PowerPoint slides, or online activities that will be used with learners in the first implementation.

  7. Development Phase Model

  8. Implementation Phase • This phase of the process describes the first use of the instruction or materials with learners. Ideally those involved with the design and development of the instruction and materials will be able to continue to follow the project once it is implemented with actual learners. • This is the phase where resources are obtain, design marketing organized, schedules are developed, and marketing programs are executed.

  9. Implementation Phase Model

  10. Evaluation Phrase • This phase consists of (1) formative and (2) summative evaluation. • Formative evaluation is present in each stage of the ADDIE process. • Summative evaluation consists of tests designed for criterion-related referenced items and providing opportunities for feedback from the users. Revisions are made as necessary.

  11. Overview • ADDIE is one of the most commonly used model of instructional design and development. It’s a generic instructional system design model consisting of 5 phrases which are analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
