  2. Foul Play One Standard, Consistent Application High Tackles Above shoulders, even if it starts lower it is HIGH. We need to look at the intent of the tackle and then look at which sanction we will be handing out. 1- Careless, without obvious intent, PK Min 2 – Dangerous/Reckless, YC Minimum 3 – Repetitive – Caution and YC START AT RED AND WORK BACKWARDS

Lifting & Tip Tackles Lifted above ground, but not more than horizontal, and not bought safety to ground - PK Lifted to horizontal & dropped - YC/RC Head below hips & driven to ground - RC A normal driving low tackle where a player is lifted slightly off the ground and lands on the bottom is not an tip tackle.

  4. Managing Foul Play When you stop the game all eyes are on you so you MAKE IT COUNT! Tone & Timing is Key – What is your trigger Keep to fact’s and keep it simply. Asst Referees – Key is to watch the players not the ball. Referee will look after that, we need to protect players away from the ball.

  5. Side-line Comments • We need to be Thick Skin till it becomes • Abusive • Threatening • Impacting on game or your ability to officiate
