Update on Feed-in Tariffs for Climate Change & Renewables - September 2012

DESCRIPTION

This presentation, prepared by Adam Davidson of Walker Morris, provides an update on Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs) introduced in 2010 for renewable energy projects. It highlights key components, including generation and export tariffs, specific technologies such as wind and solar, and recent changes effective in March, April, August, and December 2012. Important adjustments include lower generation tariffs and an increased export tariff. The presentation emphasizes the importance of quick action to maximize income and avoid tariff degression, along with details on pre-accreditation and community energy project definitions.

  3. Recent changes - solar • Changes effective 3 March, 1 April and 1 August 2012 • Lower generation tariffs • Increased export tariff • Reduced tariff lifetime • Link to energy efficiency • Multi-installations/aggregation • Degression from 1 November 2012 • Preliminary accreditation

  4. Recent changes – others • Changes effective 1 December 2012 • Lower generation tariffs • Increased export tariff • Preliminary accreditation • Definition of community energy project • Degression from 1 April 2014

  5. Impact on projects • Projects already accredited • Proposed projects • Impact between now and1 December 2012 • Using pre-accreditation
