  3. Self organizing maps come in two shapes-hexagonal and rectangular

  4. The map will now self-organize to fit the input data

  5. The 15x15 grid has been trained with 2000 epochs

  6. This data will now fold into a 3-dimensional space

  7. This is a 2-D and 3-D comparison of the trained SOM

  8. Comparison ofEncoding I and Encoding II Encoding II performs better because the map can capture more of the data
