WP4: stated goals (matrix) • Procurement WP4 personnel • Assign theory representatives from partners, today • TEG chair • Draft report “Framework for inclusion of Theory data and services in the VObs” (End cycle 1) • EURO-VO Theory Workshop (Deliverable 10, Month 17, can be rescheduled later), with WP5 • Report ready (Deliverable 11, month 26) • Participation IVOA interop meetings with theory Euro-VO kick off, WP4

  3. WP4: support • travel costs to 3 TEG meetings: TEG chair, 1 member/partner+2 experts • travel costs to the theory Workshop: 3 per partner+5 additional upon MPGs discretion • hiring personnel Euro-VO kick off, WP4

WP4 work • Create TEG (when ?) • Initial telecon (End Oct 2006) and kick-off workshop (with WP5, end kick-off phase, later ok?):What should the final report contain and how do we go about filling it in? Initial thoughts: • Census/inventory theory archives and services • source: results main census, but with emphasis in questionnaire eg. • include data format interviews (with Dave Zurek et al in US) • characterise type of simulation (e.g. SNAP-like, spectral, other?) • Look for “standard” theory services • SNAP reference implementations • VOQL implementations (ala Millennium, GalICS (Horizon ?)) • Visualisation (VisIVO ?) • Virtual telescopes • Custom services • urge to publish in IVOA registry • Focus on standards development within IVOA • SNAP, Semantics/UCD, Metadata model • reference implementations needed • example: subset from Millennium simulation in D-Grid • Collaborate DCA WP5 • Inventory for other standards needed/requested • Simulation code publication • ... • Organise prototype/reference implementations by who ? • AW: toolset to test services Euro-VO kick off, WP4

  5. WP4 meetings • Alternative meetings, funded partially by DCA? IVOA Workshop was planned Dec 2006/Jan 2007: • SNAP + data model • Each VO gets chance to nominate a representative • DCA funding for partners ? • Too late for adding WP4 kick-off (together with WP5 kick-off) ? May want similar Semantics workshop, possibly earlier. Will confer with Laurie and other Semantics contributors. Euro-VO kick off, WP4
