  3. Ezekiel 34 • False shepherds • Don’t feed the flock • Don’t strengthen the weak • Don’t care for the sick • Don’t bind up the broken • Don’t bring back the scattered • Don’t seek the lost sheep

  4. God’s Promise • I Myself will search for the sheep • I will deliver them • I will bring them back • I will feed the flock • I will heal the sick • I will seek the lost • I will strengthen the week

  5. Background • Rejection of Jesus in Nazareth • Sending out the 12 disciples • Beheading of John the Baptist • The 12 return-exhilarated but exhausted!

  6. Retreat • Renewal and Refreshment • The crowds get there first!

  7. Jesus’ Response? • Great compassion! • Sheep without a shepherd • Sheep who need a shepherd

  8. The Disciples Response? • Send them away! • We are exhausted • We have no food to feed them • It’s getting late

  9. Jesus’ Solution? You feed them!

  10. The Disciples Real Concern • We can’t feed them! • Way too expensive! • We don’t have the resources

  11. Feed My Sheep! • Be willing- If you love me • Offer what you have • Trust Jesus for the rest!

  12. Jesus is the Good Shepherd • No need He can’t fill • No wound He can’t fill • He will feed and refresh His sheep

  13. Safe in the Arms of Jesus Go- Feed my sheep!
