A Helpful Growth Analogy Well-Child Visits Height & Weight Measurements compared against standards—usually presented in Percentiles 3 month-old at 15 pounds is at the 90th Percentile in weight Child is compared to thousands of other 3 month-olds to gauge growth Student Growth Percentiles does the same thing—compares a child’s score to other children who had the same score. It plots a trajectory of how much those children scored.
Student Growth Percentiles Earn higher scores for rate (how fast) and amount of growth of each student.
The Obesity Scale • A few years ago, the cut scores for obesity were adjusted • When the new scales came out, many more people were considered obese
