  1. Cleanroom Basics MODULE – 1 A Presentation by S.Syed Noor Mohamed (wasimexpress@gmail.com)

  2. CLEANROOM A room in which the concentration of airborne particles is controlled, and which is constructed and used in a manner to minimize the introduction, generation and retention of particles inside the room and in which other relevant parameters, e.g., temperature, humidity and pressure are controlled as necessary.

  3. CLEANROOM It is a room that minimizes Introduction Generation Retention of Particles Achieved through supplying large quantities of air that has been filtered with high efficiency filters.

  4. CLEANROOM This air used to Dilute and remove the particles and bacteria Dispersed from personnel and machinery with in the room Pressurize the room and ensure that no dirty air flows into the clean air room

  5. CLEANROOM Clean room is built with material that do not generate particles and can be easily cleaned. Clean room personnel use clothing that Envelops them and minimizes their dispersion of particles Micro-organisms

  6. CLEANROOM Clean rooms can also control Temperature Humidity Sound Lighting Vibration

  7. THE NEED OF CLEANROOM People and machinery and the building structure generate contamination

  8. CLEANROOM Two major types and they are differentiated by their method of ventilation Turbulently ventilated Unidirectional flow (Laminar Flow)

  9. CLEANROOM TECHNOLOGY Cleanroom Design and Construction Cleanroom Testing and Monitoring Cleanroom Operations

  10. CLEANROOM TECHNOLOGY Cleanroom Design and Construction Standards Layout Construction Materials Services Water Gas Setting cleanroom work

  11. CLEANROOM TECHNOLOGY Cleanroom Testing and Monitoring Testing that the new room perform as designed Testing to ensure that the room continues to perform as designed

  12. CLEANROOM TECHNOLOGY Cleanroom Operations Monitoring the room conditions Entry of people, machines and materials Cleanroom disciplines to avoid contaminating the product Cleanroom garments including gloves, masks, etc. Cleanroom cleaning and cleaning equipment

  13. CLEANROOM CONSIDERATIONS It is Necessary to Design and Construct the room. To do this Design standards should be used Design layout and construction material to be used How services should be supplied

  14. CLEANROOM CONSIDERATIONS After cleanroom has been installed and working Must be tested to check that it conforms to the stipulated design During the life of cleanroom, the room must be monitored. To ensure that it continually achieves the standards that are required.

  15. CLEANROOM CONSIDERATIONS It is necessary to operate the cleanroom correctly so that the manufactured products are not contaminated. This requires Entry of people Entry of material Garment selection Cleanroom discipline Cleaning of the room ….correctly carried out.
