  5. How many? • Without retirements, 17 facility instruments • With staffing appropriate for today’s operation, six facility instruments plus a few user instruments is possible • Develop a plan for instrument deployment and retirement

  6. F/5 system components • Secondary mirror • Baffles • Wide field corrector • Wavefront sensor • Megacam • MMIRS

  7. F/5 commissioning • Expect a few weeks of engineering to get everything working • Plus a bit more, because of switchover times • A few extra people on site for commissioning work

  8. F/5 operations • Changeover can be handled by Magellan staff • Visiting instruments (Megacam, MMIRS) present additional support requirements • Visiting support scientists come with the instrument?
