  1. DO NOW! What type of reactions are the following? (of the 5 reaction types) 1. You mix together two colorful liquids. The liquid changes to clear, but a solid forms at the bottom of the beaker. What type of reaction is it, and why? 2. You burn a substance until it is all gone and nothing remains. 3. You add a pure metal to a colorful aqueous solution, and the solution changes color, and the different metal appears. 4. A solid substance by itself reacts and turns into a gas and a liquid.

  2. 5. Pure Iron reacts with oxygen. After the reaction, Iron has a +3 charge. What is produced and what is the balanced equation? 6. 0.82 grams of Sodium Chloride reacts with an excess of Potassium metal. What two products are formed, and how many grams of each are made? 7. Consider a titration of 12.5 mL of H2SO4 (Sulfuric acid, a diprotic strong acid) with a standard solution of 2.00M KOH. The titration to a phenolphthalein endpoint requires 5.3 mL of KOH. a. Write the balanced equation for the reaction. b. What is the molarity of the Sulfuric acid?
