The Role of Child Heritage Language Speakers in Family Discourse

This current study explores the impact of child heritage language speakers on family discourse. It investigates how the identity, motivation, and social network of heritage language speakers can both enhance and hinder their language development. Through examining the processes of partial acquisition, abandonment, re-acquisition, and maintenance of heritage language, the research aims to understand how language proficiency evolves across various timeframes and settings.
