  4. Application Phase • Between now and Thanksgiving • Apply online • See counselor to obtain transcript request form

  5. Sending Transcripts • Fill out transcript request form (found in Guidance Office) and give to your counselor. Your application is not complete without it!! • Self-Reported Transcripts: Some schools, such as The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, The University of Iowa, and the University of California system have students “self-report” their classes and grades. A transcript request form should still be given to your Guidance counselor.

  8. Date Targets • Early Decision vs. Early Action/Priority Date • U of I, ISU – October 31 • Most Colleges – Thanksgiving • Application Mania – Oct 18 • You are responsible for meeting deadlines!!

Common Application • Check list of schools (some have their own applications-we prefer these) • Plan in advance (letters, supplementary materials, etc.) • Teachers give paper recommendations to counselor—we do NOT send these electronically • YOU are responsible for knowing what each school requires • www.commonapp.org
