  3. Support to people living with HIV/AIDS and their Families-Improving Quality of life Time Frame: 2006 -2007 Total Budget: 192, 35 Main counterparts/stakeholders PLWA, Civil Society, NGOs, NCAP, MoH Funding agents; UNAIDS PAF, UNFPA UNDP, UNHCR UNDP JOINT PROGRAM

  4. Support people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWA) and their families by strengthening the community of practice (PLWA organizations and groups) to ensure better quality of life and an increased participation in the decision making processes Purpose

  5. Activity 1 Increase communication and knowledge and information among people living with HIV/AIDS in Armenia 40 people on internet use. Establish information points for PLWA in four selected regions / (Shirak, Ararat, Lori, Gegharkuni) Newsletters Activities

  6. Activity 2 Enabling PLWA to participate in decision-making processes in the country and play an active role in advocating for their rights Encourage PLWA to speak out in public Encourage the creation of network of PLWA Assist PLWA to advocate against stigma and discrimination High level political leadership involvement in public events Activities

  7. Activity 3 Supporting PLWA and their organizations to explore possibilities in the Armenian labor market and develop business proposals Assess education background Provide social and psychological support Activities

  8. Close and not flexible approach from the side of the stakeholders (PLWA, NGOs). Not willingness of the implementing NGO to share information with other counterparts. Lack of trust from the implementing agents towards the government authorities at national and local levels. General mistrust between the sectors Stigma and discrimination from the side of general population and government authorities at all levels Issues/ Constraints
