  9. Underdeveloped Themes and Issues • Measure 2.2 Improved Access to the Information Society • Transnational e-commerce • Training and online resource centres for SMEs • Stimulate demand for, and awareness of, ICT investment opportunities • Use of ICT to promote and facilitate multimodal transport • Any type of IT-based networks, services and applications with territorial relevance, e.g. e-dwellings, e-working etc • Improving knowledge base and efficiency of ICT related public policies

  10. Underdeveloped Themes and Issues • Priority 3: Water resources and the prevention of flood damage • Given the EU wide urgency to address flood prevention issues, the Programme is looking for high quality projects dealing with water resources and flooding (Measure 3.2) • If there is enough evidence of good transnational projects then this might trigger discussions for a shift of monies from one Measure to the other (JTS, MS, EC).

  11. Underdeveloped Themes and Issues • Priority 5: Promoting territorial integration across seas of NWE • Identifying complementary functions between NWE ports • SMEs improving co-operation in services related to seaport and inland port activities • Promotion of short sea shipping services in NWE and between NWE and other EU seaboards (Atlantic, North Sea…) • Enhancement of the indigenous maritime potential (employment, social integration) • Networks between NWE coastal gateway towns • Joint management of fishing resources, coastal ecosystems

  12. Underdeveloped Themes and Issues • All Priorities and Measures • High quality projects at all Measures are encouraged, even for those Measures where a lot of projects are on the pipeline (quantity vs quality) like 1.1, 4.2 • Meeting the targets and objectives at Programme Level means that a reorganisation of allocated money may arise at the Mid Term Evaluation even at Priority level (end 2003) • An early expression of interest will assist JTS in making a judgement about this
