  1. Learning From Temptation Luke 4:1-13

  2. He does not abandon effective tools 1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

  3. He does not abandon effective tools Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

  4. He does not abandon effective tools 1 Corinthians 6:15-18 … what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 17 "Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.

  5. Verses 6-7- He is a Liar Genesis 1:26, 28 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

  6. Verses 6-7- He is a Liar 1 Corinthians 3:21-22 So then let no one boast in men. For all things belong to you, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come; all things belong to you,

  7. Verses 6-7- He is a Liar 2 Corinthians 4:4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. God of this world uses blinders and deceit.

  8. Verses 6-7- He is a Liar Psalm 2:7-8 "I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, `You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8`Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. Lies with his promises. He couldn’t deliver.

  9. Verses 6-7- He is a Liar 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds. Lies with the scriptures.

  10. Verses 2, 13 - He looks for opportune times • 1 Timothy 5:11-15 - young women • Ephesians 4:26-27- anger • Acts 5:3- Ananias & Sapphira • 1 Corinthians 7:2-3 - spouse • 2 Corinthians 7:7-11 - repenting one Be aware of times, places, and people that tempt us.

  11. He is defeated by the word Psalm 119:11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. Satan depends upon emotions, feelings, the moment, broad path thinking and deception

  12. A large group of people today believe that the Devil is not real. The Truth? He is real, murderous, and persistent! Has he been having his way with you?
