  6. TEMPTING BUYERS • The media tempts potential buyers in different ways, including: • Symbols (language and images) • Twitter teasers • Infomercials and commercials • Print advertising campaigns • Seize-the-deal email blasts

ELEMENTS OF TEMPTATION SUDDEN OPPORTUNITY • Example: Consumer of Infomercials • Intimacy and immediacy of social media makes it an enticing platform to engage with others • With the click of the button, we can create any persona we choose • We are tempted to believe what is seen in social media • Must remember that just because it is posted, doesn’t mean it is true

ELEMENTS OF TEMPTATION CONFLICTS OF INTEREST • Example: Creator, such as a Journalist • Converged media brings with it pressure to be the best and the most recent • It is tempting to achieve this at any cost, even plagiarizing • Conflicts of interest can arise through religious beliefs, family values, and personal beliefs • The creator must decide whether or not to proceed
