World Heritage • What is World Cultural Heritage? • World Cultural Heritage refers to the cultural and natural properties designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) under the “Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage,” which was adopted by the 17th General Conference of UNESCO in November 1972.
