  1. Welcome to the Family! CONGRATULATIONS! You’re a BUSINESSWOMAN!

  2. WHAT COMES FIRST? • First, you’ll need parties! Let’s make a list of 50 women that you can reach out to. • Grab your WHO DO YOU KNOW sheet and we will fill it out together!

  3. EFFECTIVE TIPS • Never prejudge whether someone will or won’t be interested in Pure Romance. Write down the first person that comes to mind, and contact them to let them decide for themselves! For example, include men on your list. While our parties are women-only, men may be interested in Pure Romance products or know others who are interested! • Have your cellphone, address book, and social networking contacts (from Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) available as you complete your list. Don’t repeat names! If you are having a hard time completing the list, give a copy to friends or family members, and have them fill it out. • After you complete the list, select six close friends and family members to contact first! At least one, if not all, of your top six supporters will book a party with you or provide you with a referral. Because Pure Romance recommends that new Consultants book six parties in their first 60 days, calling your top six will give you a good foundation to reach that goal!

  4. WHAT DO I SAY? • Your Pure Romance Commercial will help you announce your business! It has 4 components: • The Introduction. Let them know your name and that you own and operate your own Pure Romance business. • The Company. A brief description of Pure Romance. • The Product. Keep it classy! Use tasteful words like lotion, lingerie, and relationship enhancement products. • The Offer. This point is most important! Remember, you have a lot to offer: education, empowerment, and entertainment - plus ​      hostess rewards!

  5. GIVE IT A TRY! • Sample Commercial: • I am a Pure Romance business owner—have you heard of Pure Romance? Well, we’re an in-home party company. We hold parties to educate women on the benefits of relationship enhancement products. We sell the highest quality products, from lotions and lingerie to bedroom accessories. I have to say, the best part of my job is I get to throw fun parties for women, give them tips for improving their intimate lives, and give away free products. My hostesses can receive up to $150 in free Pure Romance products, just for having a party! • Your Turn! • Take a few minutes to create your commercial and say it out loud!

MAKE THE CALL! • Making the Call: • The first people you contact about hosting a party will be some of your closest friends and family members, so it should be easy to talk to them.  • When you ask someone to host a party, here are some talking points you can use to get her excited: • Tell her she'll be doing you a favor by helping you get your new business off to a great start and how much it would mean to you! • Tell her how much fun the two of you will have at the party! • Tell her she can get free products just for hosting the party! • Tell her a specific date that you'd like to have the party--if your friend is hosting the party to help you out, she'll likely be flexible on dates. • Offer a theme! What are some theme ideas? • Sa​mple Booking Call Script​ • Consultant: “Hi, [friend's name]! How are you? You are not going to believe what I did—started my own Pure Romance business! I'm really excited, and I'm trying to schedule my first parties. Do you think you could help me get my business off the ground by hosting a party next weekend? We'll have a blast, and I'll show you all the fun goodies in my starter kit. You'll get free products just for hosting. Can I put you down for next Saturday?” • You will want to follow up with anyone who expresses interest in hosting, even if she needs more time to schedule a date. Keep detailed notes of when to call back, review your notes regularly, and follow up. You'll see your business soar in no time!  • Work Smart! Decide on the dates you want to work before you make your booking calls. This can help you book parties on the days you most want to work! Friday evenings and weekends are very popular days, and you can book parties any day of the week. Offer a small gift to any hostess willing to book a party on a weeknight. Try not to schedule the party more than two or three weeks away to avoid any postponements.

  8. SHADOWING • Be sure to shadow a minimum of 2 parties before your own. This will help you learn different techniques for booking, demonstrations, etc. • Head to our team website, www.rockinromancers.weebly.comfor a shadow list, guidelines and evaluation sheet!

HOSTESS PACKET PARTY PLANNING- YAY! • Recommended Materials: • Two Catalogs: One catalog for your hostess, and the other for her to pass along to customers interested in placing preorders. • Five Order Forms and Envelopes (for privacy): Add a classy touch by placing each form in an envelope. • Six Pure Romance Business Cards: One card for your hostess, and the other five to place in the envelopes with the order forms. • Twenty Pure Romance Invitations: This is optional, depending on how the hostess is planning to invite her guests.

  10. SET SOME GOALS- WHY NOT?! • Retail Sales Goal: $700 or More Party AverageWork to build your party average to at least $700. Experienced Consultants may find that their party average is closer to $800. What would happen if you set a goal to average $1,000 per party? Chances are you will increase your party average just by setting your sights a bit higher! • Attendance Goal: At Least 10 Women at Every PartyTell your hostess that most of your parties have at least 10 guests. Encourage her to over-invite in order to get at least 10 guests to attend and to make sure everyone she knows is included! As a general rule, the hostess should invite around 50% ​​more guests than she hopes to have in attendance to make up for any guests who decline or have to cancel. • Preorder Goal: Collect Three PreordersThe average order is about $50 per person! Can you imagine what you could do with an extra $150 in retail sales from every party? That's the kind of impact preorders can have on your business! Later in this section, you will learn how you can make collecting preorders easy for you ​and your hostesses. • Party Booking Goal: Book Three New Parties at Every PartyBooking new parties at your parties is what keeps momentum behind your business. Set a goal to book three parties at every party you hold. Whatever your financial goals are for your Pure Romance business, this party booking goal will set you up to meet them! • New Consultant Goal: Schedule Three Follow-Up Calls per PartySharing the business opportunity with other women should be second nature at each of your parties. You should ask everyone if they are interested in learning more about Pure Romance, and set at least three follow-up calls per party. If you are regularly setting up time to talk to women you've met at your parties, you will ensure that you're consistently expanding your business! • Making It WorkIt's important to remember that any goals you set for yourself should be flexible and adaptable based on the needs of each hostess. What happens if your goal for the number of guests at each party is 10-15 people, but your hostess only wants to invite eight of her closest friends? Do you turn down her party? Of course not! You can always adjust your goals as needed. Having the initial goal gives you something concrete to work toward for every party

  13. OPENING SPEECH • The Opening Speech sets the tone and expectations for your party. Make sure to include: • Hostess benefits (use whole numbers rather than percentages) • Booking bonus/incentive (different than your hostess benefits, this encourages her to secure a date in the next couple of weeks rather than months down the road) • Dynamics of the show (licker & sniffer, making her wish list, private ordering room) • Thank your hostess!!!!

  14. SAMPLE OPENING • Thank you so much for coming out this evening to _________ [hostess’s name] party. With a quick show of hands...how many of you are attending your very first Pure Romance party? Welcome! I am excited to see you here. We are going to have a great time!” • “Now that I know a little about you, let me share a little about myself and Pure Romance. As I said, my name is ____________ [first name] and I’m a _____________ [student, stay-at-home mom, etc.] and I started at Pure Romance for the ______________ [reason one] and ______________ [reason two]. What I also love about this business is our mission to empower, educate, and entertain in a comfortable place for women to openly discuss sexual health.” • “Pure Romance was founded by Patty Brisben, a single mother of four, over 20 years ago out of the basement of her home in Cincinnati. Today, we are a global leader in the industry working with Indiana University, home to the largest sexual health research center in the United States, to provide premium products and up-to-date information. What that means for you is you’re going to experience some of the hottest relationship enhancement products on the market.” •  ​“As we are sampling the products, your left is for licking and right is for sniffing. You can always sniff your licker, but you won’t want to lick your sniffer. So we will start with the bath and beauty products and then slowly move our way to the bedroom accessories, which is what you came to see, right?” • “My goal here tonight is to make sure that you learn some new things, have fun with your friends, and feel comfortable sharing as much or as little as you want. We will have confidential one-on-one ordering at the end of the demonstration, so you can ask me any questions you have in the shopping room.” • “I accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Anything I don’t have in stock will be shipped discreetly and directly from me to you.” • “Let’s open your catalog and turn to page ____ [page the Customer Connection Card is on] and fold the Customer Connection Card on the perforated edge so we can fill out the front of the card. When you are done, go ahead and tuck it back into your catalog. We will fill out the back of the card later.” • “I would like to thank _________ [hostess] for opening up her home and hosting a Pure Romance party. As my hostess, I’ll be spoiling you with free and discounted products, so get your wish list ready! Ladies, you can get your favorite items free too—when you host your own party.” • “Let’s get started and have some fun! Turn to page ___ [the page of bath and beauty] in your catalog.”

GAMES BABY! • There are several types of games that you can play at your parties to build your business in different ways. • Icebreaker games • Icebreaker games are games that help guests relax and allow you to connect with your audience. They give you a chance to learn guests’ names and gauge what kind of audience you’re facing. Playing an icebreaker game will put guests at ease and get them ready for the party! • Booking games • Booking games are games that you can play to help you find guests who are interested in booking parties. Booking games are a great way to find potential hostesses. They can help you fill your calendar now, and keep it full well into the future! • Sponsoring games • Sponsoring games get your guests thinking about the opportunity to have their very own Pure Romance business. They make it easier for you to engage guests in a conversation about becoming a Pure Romance Consultant later in the party. • Income boosting games​ • Income boosting games will help you increase your total orders—both the night of the party and in the future! You will want to include information that is educational and sprinkle with the entertainment!

CLOSING SPEECH • Closing Speech Outline • Thank your hostess. • Collect the Customer Connection Cards from each guest. • Give an overview of the private shopping room. • Remind the guests that visits to the shopping room are one-on-one only so they have a confidential place to order and ask questions.​ • Say the location of the private shopping room. • Provide business details. • State the payment methods that you will accept. • Explain the shipping and handling fees. • Explain the open order policy. • State ​current sales you are offering (if applicable). • Say “thank you” to the group before heading into the private shopping room. • Thank each guest individually • This looks like a lot but all together it sounds like…

  20. CLOSING SPEECH SAMPLE • Alright, ladies, that is all I have to show you tonight! I want to thank [hostess's name] for inviting me into her home and for such a great night with all of you! Let’s give her a big hand for being such a fabulous hostess!​ Please make sure your Customer Connection Card is completely filled out, and I will collect them at this time.  • Remember, if you want to be spoiled just like [hostess's name] and are ready to book your party tonight, circle “10” for the first question. If you thought what I did tonight looked fun and you would like to know more about starting your own Pure Romance business, circle “10” for the second question. Also, mark which ways you’d like for me to stay in touch with you, and write down who in this room you think would be a fantastic Pure Romance Consultant. It could even be you! • Remember, ladies, when you pay today, you play today! There is a $6 shipping and handling fee that I pay to have the product ready for you tonight. You will pay the same one-time charge for this shipping and handling no matter what you purchase tonight. There is also sales tax—it’s _____, and I can help you with totaling your order in the shopping room. Forms of payment that I accept are cash, major credit cards, or a check made out to me. My name is on the back of your Customer Connection Card and on my business card. • It’s time to order! For those interested in shopping tonight, I will meet with you individually in the shopping room. This ensures that you have a comfortable and confidential place to order and ask questions. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the shopping room.

  21. CUSTOMER CONNECTION CARD • Customer Connection Card • After you complete your opening speech, have the guests pull out their Customer Connection Card. This is a valuable tool that can give you important information about each customer. When used correctly, these cards can lead to increased sales, party bookings, and even new Consultants signing up under you! • The Customer Connection Card is included with each catalog, so encouraging guests to fill them out will be an easy element to add to your party routine! You can discuss the cards at the beginning of your party, about halfway through your demonstration, and before ordering begins. Make sure you collect all the cards prior to going into the shopping room, so if anyone does not come into the shopping room, you still have their contact information. • When you tell your customers to fill out the cards, make sure they understand what the numbers on the “interest” portions of the card mean. • Hosting a party: • 1-3 – She’s a party goer, not a party thrower. • 4-6 – She’s interested, but needs more information. • 7-9 – She’s very interested and wants to discuss it now. • 10 – She’s ready to set a date. • Taking home information about the business: • 1-3 – It’s just not for her. • 4-6 – She might be interested, but needs more details. • 7-9 – She would probably take home some information. • 10 – She definitely wants to know more. • Every guest and hostess at each party should fill out a Customer Connection Card before the party ends. To encourage women to fill out their cards, create an incentive. Announce that everyone who turns in a completed card will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize!
