  2. Page 202…”Bad Boy” Read the story “Bad Boy” completely with your partner. Manipulate the text in the following ways: • Paragraph 1: Highlight/Underline things the narrator says he likes or is good at. Next to this paragraph write the point of view this story is told as well as what camera p.o.v. would be used. • Paragraphs 3-9: Highlight/underline what the narrator did to get in trouble • Paragraph 9: Highlight/underline the sentence with parallel structure. • Paragraphs 10-16: Highlight/underline more actions that got the narrator in trouble. • Paragraphs 17-23: Highlight/underline 2 things that show the teacher changed her mind about the narrator.

  3. Page 206 “Mr. Irwin Lasher” Read the story “Mr. Irwin Lasher” completely with your partner. Manipulate the text in the following ways: • Paragraph 6: Highlight/underline adjectives that Mr. Lasher used. Remember: Adjectives describe nouns. • Paragraph 8: Put a box around the two things Mr. Lasher knows about Walter and then highlight/underline what Walter does to Mr. Lasher. • Paragraphs 9-13: Highlight 3 things that Mr. Lasher did that helped Walter change his attitude. • Paragraph 14: Identify the adverb that describes how Walter’s grades improved. Remember: adverbs describe verbs. • If time permits, you may begin filling in the graphic organizer on page 208 using the information you highlighted in the texts, but you may NOT go on to page 209.

Page 208… • Fill in the chart on page 208 making sure you include a quote and paragraph number for anything in the first 2 columns • Skip #2 • Fill in the chart on page 209 putting care into your answers because YOU WILL HAVE TO USE THESE ANSWERS ON YOUR HOMEWORK! • SUMMATIVE Homework: Using what you wrote on page 209, write a letter from the perspective of either Mrs. Conway or Mr. Lasher to the teacher who will have Walter in class next year. Describe Walter in a way that will help the next teacher allow Walter to excel. • Remember: Proper letter formatting, 10-12 sentence MINIMUM, you must have a greeting/salutation/date, indent your paragraph, and use page 209 to help you! YOU SHOULD BE WRITING IN THE VOICE OF A TEACHER!!! • SUBMIT TO MOODLE BY THURSDAY AT MIDNIGHT!!!
