  4. LISTENING • LISTEN TO ONE ENGLISH NEWS SEGMENT EVERYDAY. • MONITOR WHAT YOUR WARD WATCHES ON T.V. • ENSURE THAT HE DOES NOT PICK UP SLANG AND INDECENT LANGUAGE.

  5. SPEAKING • ENCOURAGE YOUR WARD TO SPEAK ENGLISH AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. • BE A ROLE MODEL – SPEAK THE LANGUAGE YOURSELF • DISCOURAGE THE USE OF SLANG.

  6. READING • WE REMEMBER WHAT WE ENJOY READING. • ENCOURAGE YOUR WARD TO READ. • READ INDIAN AUTHORS WHO WRITE IN ENGLISH OR GOOD ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF HINDI BOOKS AND NOVELS.

  7. READING • STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES. • COMPREHENSION GOES HAND IN HAND WITH READING. • TEXT SHOULD BE READ ALOUD. • A DICTIONARY MUST BE USED TO FIND MEANINGS AND USAGE OF NEW UNFAMILIAR WORDS.
