  2. Introduction • This Course is designed to sensitize the students to the issues and problems of communication

  3. There are two parts to this course HSS Component Department or Center Component 50% Marks Assigned for each Component

  4. Credit Structure This Course is mandatory to all M.Tech./M.Phil./Ph.D. students This is a Course with 4 Credits It Carries the Grade ‘PP’ or ‘NP’

  5. Mode of Assessment One Mid-Semester Test of 50 Marks to test HSS part. Departments/Centers will have Assignments, Presentations, Group Discussions: 50 Marks.

  6. When Does One Pass? A student should get at least 20 marks taken separately in HSS Test and in evaluation by the respective Departments or Centres Even if you score 69 marks you could fail!

  7. When Does One Fail? If you get 19 marks in either HSS Component or Departmental Component and full 50 Marks in the other Component, you will fail.

  8. When Does One Get 'XX' Grade? If your attendance falls below 80%, you would be awarded 'XX' grade.

  9. This Course Is Offered Every Semester Even if you get the grade 'NP' or 'XX', you have one more chance to clear it in the next semester. You need to clear this course in your first two semesters.
