  2. What information needs to be on the Data Tables? • A) Number of Trials • B) Column for the IV • C) Column for the DV • D) Units listed • E) Column to calculate the averages (where appropriate)

  4. TYPES OF GRAPHS • A) BAR: Generally used when using QUALITATIVE data. IV/DV orientation still the same as a line graph. • B) LINE: When using QUANTATIVE data. IV/DV orientation • C) PIE CHARTS: Used for viewing percentages. Not necessarily looking at trends in the data. • D) SCATTER PLOT: Not used for trends over time.

  5. What is the key information that all graphs should have? • 1) TITLE • 2) IV: on the x-axis with units in ( ) • 3) DV: on the y-axis with units in ( ) • 4) SCALING: Appropriate scaling of data • 5) Either data points connected or line of best fit drawn • 6) KEY: Where appropriate • 7) SUMMARY: summary of trends seen in the data.
