Next week • What it’s about • Learning to learn the HE way • Learning – not being taught • Treating your learning like a full time job is a good frame of mind – 40 hours a week • Attend – and keep up! • Aim to enjoy your learning • Help will be readily and willingly available • Be a ‘strategic learner’ only and you will have to whistle • Classes - group 1 here and group 2 here

How you are to learn (from Monday) • Four modules: iPAS,iM,iSDCS, iWTDS • Lectures, Tutorials and Workshops and your own work • Assessments (assignments, portfolios, presentations, class tests, etc, etc) • research, reading, exercises, watching the telly, chatting in the bar etc • Lots of module contact time is designed to help you do well in these tasks • Lots of non-contact time is designed to help you do well in these tasks

  5. Attendance, conduct • We did all this on Wednesday

  6. Academic misconduct • we did all this too • is also well defined here • don’t go there – the penalties are not worth it and you WILL be found out

  8. Things I haven’t organised • Library visit • sessions running hourly today from 10:00 to 14:00 in K27 (near the concourse n the Octagon • Personal tutor meetings • we’ll do these next week – I’ll mail details because your personal tutor is me
