Glossary of Terms • Mixes: monitors • Distro: U-Ground, Hubble, cam lock • Snake: Multiple channels of xlr (mic inputs and return lines) • Split Snake: For every “in” there area 2 “outs” • Snake Head: Stage end of the snake, Tail • Sub Snake: Drops located at various locations on the stage, or for patching purposes. • Sound Check: Check Instruments and EQ monitors • Line Check: Check input lines from stage to FOH • Changeover: Remove Equipment from Stageand position equipment for the next act. • Downbeat: Start Time Corporate

Glossary of Terms • FOH: Front of house • Load in: Unload trucks and move equipment into the venue • Strike: Dismantling show, remove equipment during change overs • Stage Monitor: Wedge, Cue Wedge • Monitor World: Where the monitor techs mix monitors from. • Guitar World: Where the guitar tech tunes, restrings guitars during a show. • Backline: Bands Equipment • Riser: Drum Riser, Keyboard riser.

Glossary of Terms • AC: Alternating current, electrical • Quad Box: Electrical Box with 4 u-grounds, 1 circuit • Aux Send: An independent mix derived from the channels for various functions • Balanced unbalanced: Refers to the type of input or output signal connection. An unbalanced connection has two signal carrying conductors, one of which is the cable shield. A balanced connection has 3 conductors two for signal and a shield which is connected to the earth • Bi-amping: Providing separate amplifiers to drive the high and low frequency units in a loud speaker. • Earth: Also known as ground. The term for the electronic signal reference. This connects to the mains supply earth point and all cable shields and conductive equipment cases.
