REMEMBER THE IRON CURTAIN?DRAMATIC CHANGES IN THE CEE REGION YEAR ‘89/90. • Significant increse in nr. of shopping malls, mobile phones, vehicles, etc. • But, no change in old habits, intolerant & undisciplined behaviour in traffic & parking. • Pioneer steps towards organised on-street parking system in Hungary & CEE too. • Implementation of parking contoll & enforcement across Hungray(First P&D machines, then mobile phone parking system, which won EPAAward)

SPECIAL FEATURESIN HUNGARIAN PARKING ENFORCEMENT SOLUTIONS: • Transforming Parking attendants to City police officers. • Penetration of Pay-by-Phone Parking. • GPS controled ITS systems & instruments in parkingand toll road menegement. In Hungary, more than 50% of the parking revenues are coming from the enforcement, due to the unpaid parking tickets. (legal proceedings, bailiffs.)

(Parking is still free in 12 districts.) • No central coordination.  • Each district is providing the same (parking) service. Franchise? • Hungaropark is taking the lead! We step-by-step try to become aSTRONG COORDINATOR.  • Unique position and opportunity to shape the face of the Hungarianparking industry.

BUDAPEST & THE CEE REGION:EMERGING MARKETS FOR PARKING INDUSTRY On street parking: • Implementation of systems & tools i.e. P&D machines, mobile phone parking, smartphone apps, etc. Off street parking: • Parking techologies implementations(pay stations, CCTV, OCR, RFID) • Mechanized & automatized car parks • Consturcting new parking garagesbelow and above the ground

Why? • Congestion Charging in Budapest is a must accoridng to EU. • Drivers are not really following up parking matters. No interest? PARKINGRESISTENCE
