Parental Participation - parent(s) have the right to participate as a team member; Prior Written Notice - you are notified in writing before a meeting is held; Parental Consent – you give permission before we do formal assessments, re-evaluate or place; Record Review- you can review all school records; Evaluation Standards- parents are a part of the team; Procedural Safeguards

Least Restrictive Environment - be with peers as much as possible; Due Process Hearing - if you disagree with placement contact Spec Ed at DPI Disciplinary Methods - you participate with the team to decide discipline methods if behavior is a problem.   5. In ND, a person is considered an adult on the 18th birthday. The student is responsible for making decisions, including those about school. Unless the parent petitions state court to retain guardianship, previous parental rights are revoked. Parents are informed at least 1 year prior to the students 18th birthday. Rights are explained to the student to prepare for the transfer. When the student turns 18, parents will be notified of the transfer of rights. Transfer of Rights
