Kindergarten News Dr. Seuss Activities Today we read The Lorax and students made their own truffula trees! Next week, we will be reading One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and enjoy a golf fish snack. We will also read Oobleck and make our own oobleck. Word Wall Words This week we reviewed the words currently on our word wall. The kids love being “Mind Readers” and figuring out the word wall word that I am thinking of given a few clues. This is a great activity to play at home too! Current Words: a, I, the, my, see, like, to, go, and, is, has, here, for, have, he, she, play, said, you, are, we, do, it, of, can, was, with, look, not, big, red • March Reminders • Send in Reading Coupons on Thursday (100 min./week) • 12 Stuffed Plastic Eggs due MONDAY • Needs/Wants Homework due on Monday Themes Dr. Suess Needs/Wants Living/Nonliving March is Reading Month Next week is the last week for March is Reading Month. There will be a raffle at the final MIRM assembly so be sure to send in book coupons by Thursday! There will be a special movie and snack in the gym on Thursday for all who participated in meeting our school-wide reading goal! Guest Readers Next week is the last week for guest readers. Thank you to all of our Guest Readers who participated this month. We had a full schedule and the students thoroughly looked forward to having you come in to read! Guest Authors/Readers This week we had three special readers at school! Mrs. Meyers, our previous media center teacher, took the time to read to us this week. Guest author, Maria Dismondy, gave a stellar presentation on bullying. The students participated in role playing activities to understand what bullying is and how to respond. We also had the Oakland University mascot, Grizz, come in and read to the school on Wednesday while our class was in the media center. Upcoming Dates. A few parents have inquired about still sending in a birthday treat.
