1. April 2013 Kindergarten Classroom News It is great to see the growth that your child has made over the course of the second trimester. During the third trimester we will be focusing on preparing children for first grade. Writing will be a big emphasis during this time. Please help your child with their nightly writing assignments in forming their letters correctly, leaving proper spacing between words, using upper and lowercase letters as needed, and using sight words to help them write sentences independently. Our goal for the end of Kindergarten is to have children writing 4 sentences independently. This is a big task, but we are sure that each child can do this with our support from school and home. • Our April volunteer calendars are in the front office. Thank you, again, to all of our helpers who come in to help make our classrooms run a little more smoothly  • As we approach warmer weather, please be aware of the CCSD dress code. You can visit ccsd.net for specific guidelines. • We encourage families to continue bringing in healthy snack items on your child’s assigned snack day.
