  9. 2010 ITS-1 Expansion Item ITS-1 • Ola 230 / 115 kV Project • Construct a new 230 kV circuit from Klondike to Ola by way of two new GTC load stations, Jackson Creek and East Lake • Convert the existing East Lake – Ola 115 kV line to 230 kV operation. • Install a 400 MVA, 230 / 115 kV autobank at OLA and three 115 kV breakers to terminate the lines to McDonough, Porterdale and Island Shoals. • The loss of the McDonough – Stockbridge 115 kV T.L. causes multiple facilities to overload.

  10. 2010 ITS-2 Expansion Item ITS-2 • North Americus Series Reactors • Install two series reactors at North Americus, a 2% 230 kV series reactor on the North Americus – North Tifton 230 kV line and a 2% 230 kV series reactor on the North Americus – Talbot County #2 230 kV line. • The loss of Hatch unit #1 and North Tifton 500 / 230 kV transformer cause thermal overloads on the North Americus – North Tifton 230 kV line. Additionally, the loss of Hatch unit #2 and Fortson – North Tifton 500 kV line cause thermal overloads on the North Americus – Talbot County #2 230 kV line.

  11. 2010 ITS-3 Expansion Item ITS-3 • McDonough 4 & 5 Network Improvement • Construct the Jack McDonough – Smyrna 230 kV line via Cumberland (convert from 115 kV) and Galleria (new) substations. Add a 5 element, 230 kV ring bus at Smyrna and replace the 300 MVA 230 / 115 kV transformer with two 400 MVA transformers. • The loss of the Jack McDonough – Peachtree 230 kV T.L. will cause overloading of the facilities surrounding McDonough.

  12. 2010 ITS-4a Expansion Item ITS-4a • Pegamore 230 kV Project • Construct a new 230 kV switching station (Pegamore 230 kV SS) on the newly converted Bowen – Villa Rica 230 kV line at Huntsville Junction. • Install three 230 kV breakers to terminate the Bowen, Villa Rica, and McConnell Road 230 kV Lines. • Construct a new 230 kV line using existing ROW, from Pegamore to Huntsville, and from Huntsville to the McConnell Road 230 / 115 kV substation.

  13. 2010 ITS-4b Expansion Item ITS-4b • Pegamore 230 kV Project • Install a 230 kV breaker at McConnell substation and terminate the Pegamore line. Convert the Huntsville, Battlefield, and Cedarcrest substations to 230 kV operation. • This project will alleviate multiple thermal overloads and provide approximately 100 MVAR's of reactive support in the area.

  14. 2010 ITS-5a Expansion Item ITS-5a • Thomson 500 / 230 kV Project • Expand the 500 kV ring bus at Warthen and terminate the Thomson Primary 500 kV line. • Construct a 500 kV switchyard and expand the 230 kV switchyard at Thomson Primary. • Install a 1344 MVA, 500 / 230 kV transformer at Thomson Primary. • Replace the 140 MVA, 230 / 115 kV transformer at Thomson Primary with a 300 MVA transformer. • Construct 23 miles of 230 kV line on new ROW from Thomson Primary to Dum Jon.

  15. 2010 ITS-5b Expansion Item ITS-5b • Thomson 500 / 230 kV Project • Install a 230 kV breaker at Dum Jon to terminate the Thomson Primary line. • Replace the 125 MVA, 230 / 115 kV transformer at Evans Primary with a 300 MVA transformer. • Construct 35 miles of 500 kV line from Warthen to Thomson Primary. • The loss of the Goshen – Peach Orchard section of the Dum Jon – Goshen 230 kV T.L. will overload the Dum Jon – West Augusta 115 kV T.L. An outage of the Goshen 230 kV #1 bus will overload both the Goshen – Vogtle 230 kV T.L. (Black) and the Goshen 230 / 115 kV #2 transformer.

  16. 2010 ITS-6 Expansion Item ITS-6 • Union Point – Warrenton 115 kV Rebuild • Rebuild the Union Point – Warrenton 115 kV line (26.7 miles of 336 ACSR) with 1351 ACSR conductor at 230 kV specifications. • The loss of the East Social Circle – Madison Primary 115 kV T.L. will overload the Union Point – Warrenton 115 kV T.L.

  17. 2010 ITS-7 Expansion Item ITS-7 • Klondike 230 kV Reactor Project • Install a 0.5 %, 230 kV series reactor. • The loss of the Klondike – Norcross 500 kV T.L. causes the Klondike 500 / 230 kV transformer to overload.

  18. 2011 ITS-8a Expansion Item ITS-8a • Factory Shoals • Create a 230 / 115 kV network substation at Factory Shoals. • Install one 230 / 115 kV 300 MVA transformer. • Tap the Adamsville – Douglasville 230 kV line from Buzzard Roost for 230 kV source using existing line. • Create a 115 kV network station by breakering up the Douglasville – Greenbriar 115 kV line.

  19. 2011 ITS-8b Expansion Item ITS-8b • Factory Shoals • Install three 230 kV breakers at Buzzard Roost, looping in the Adamsville- Douglasville 230 kV line, with a third terminal serving Factory Shoals. Tap the Adamsville – Douglasville 230 kV line from Buzzard Roost for 230 kV source using existing line. • Alleviates the overload of Gordon Road – Hightower 115 kV T.L., Adamsville – Greenbriar 115 kV T.L. and the Douglasville 230 / 115 kV transformer given various contingencies.

  20. 2011 ITS-9 Expansion Item ITS-9 • Arkwright – Gordon #1 115 kV Transmission Line • Rebuild the Arkwright – Gordon #1 115 kV Transmission Line (23.6 miles) with 100° C 795 ACSR conductor. • This line becomes thermally overloaded given multiple contingencies in 2011.

  21. 2013 ITS-10 Expansion Item ITS-10 • East Social Circle 230 kV Series Reactors • Install a 2%, 230 kV series reactor at East Social on the Branch – East Social Circle 230 kV T.L. • The loss of the Franklin unit #2 and Branch – East Social Circle 230 kV T.L.

  22. 2014 ITS-11 Expansion Item ITS-11 • East Carrollton 230 / 115 kV Substation • Construct the East Carrollton 230 / 115 kV substation looping the Hickory Level – Yellowdirt 230 kV T.L. and the Possum Branch – Yates 115 kV T.L.. • Reconductor 1.5 miles of 115 kV T.L. from Clem – Oak Mtn. – Holox – East Carrollton – Southwire – Carrollton #2 Junction • With Yates unit #3 offline, the loss of Hickory Level – Sand Hill 115 kV T.L. causes Mt. Zion – Jonesville Junction 115 kV T.L. to overload. Additionally, the loss of either Bremen or Hickory Level 230 / 115 kV transformers will cause the other transformer to exceed its rating.

  23. 2014 ITS-12 Expansion Item ITS-12 • Goshen – Waynesboro 115 kV Transmission Line • Reconductor the Goshen – Waynesboro 115 kV T.L., 18.7 miles, with 1033 ACSR. • Loss of the Wilson – Waynesboro 230 kV T.L. will load the Goshen – Waynesboro 115 kV T.L. to 112% of its 124 MVA conductor rating.

  24. 2014 ITS-13 Expansion Item ITS-13 • Hatch – Offerman 230 kV Transmission Line • Reconductor 27.1 miles of 230 kV T.L. from Appling Biomass to Offerman. • The loss of the 500 / 230 kV transformer at Thalmann with Farley unit # 1 offline causes this section to become overloaded.

  25. 2014 ITS-14 Expansion Item ITS-14 • Bethabara 230 / 115 kV project • Delay project from 2011 to 2014. • Build a new 230 / 115kV substation (Bethabara). • Build a new 230 kV switching station (Clarksboro). • Build a new 115 kV switching station (Jefferson Rd). • Build a new 230kV T.L. from Bethabara to Clarksboro. • Build a new 115 kV T.L. from Bethabara to the Georgia Square substation. • Loop the Athens – Winder 115 kV T.L. into the 115 kV • Jefferson Road Switching Station. • Project alleviates multiple thermal overloads in the northeast Georgia area.

  26. 2015 ITS-15a Expansion Item ITS-15a • East Walton 500 / 230 kV Project – P1 • Construct a new 500 /230 kV Substation at East Walton. • Construct a new Rockville 500 kV Switching Station. • Construct a new 500 kV T.L. from the new Rockville 500 kV Switching Station to the new East Walton 500 / 230 kV substation. • Construct 230 kV T.L. from East Walton to Jacks Creek

  27. 2015 ITS-15b Expansion Item ITS-15b • East Walton 500 / 230 kV Project – P1 • Construct a new 230 kV T.L. from East Walton to the new Bostwick Switching Station. • Construct two new 230 kV T.L. from Bethabara to East Walton. • Reconductor Bostwick – East Watkinsville 230 kV T.L. and Center Primary – Clarksboro 230 kV T.L. Replace line traps at Center and East Watkinsville. • The loss of the Klondike – Scherer 500 kV T.L. will thermally overload the Klondike – O’Hara 500 kV T.L.

  28. 2016 ITS-16 Expansion Item ITS-16 • Thomson Primary – Vogtle 500 kV Project • Construct a 500 kV line from Plant Vogtle to the new Thomson Primary 500 / 230 kV substation. • This project is to support the expansion of Plant Vogtle. A new 500 kV T.L. will be required from Plant Vogtle to Thomson Primary to address generator stability issues.

  29. 2017 ITS-17 Expansion Item ITS-17 • South Metro Phase-III Project • Rebuild the existing O'Hara – Bonanza – Hampton – McDonough 115 kV T.L. with double circuit with ACSR 1351 at 230 kV specifications. • Create a new 230 kV circuit from O'Hara to McDonough and add a 230 / 115 kV, 400 MVA transformer at McDonough • Construct a 115 kV T.L. between the Peeksville and Ingram substations. • Project alleviates multiple thermal overloads in the metro Atlanta area.

  30. 2017 ITS-18 Expansion Item ITS-18 • Dorchester 230 kV Project • Construct a 45 mile 230 kV T.L. from Dorchester to West Brunswick. • Install a second 230 / 115 kV transformer and 230 kV capacitor bank at Dorchester. • Reconductor Dorchester – Little Ogeechee 230 kV T.L. • This project is to alleviate multiple thermal overloads for various contingencies in the Savannah Georgia area.

  31. 2017 ITS-19 Expansion Item ITS-19 • Middle Fork 500 / 230 kV Project • Install a 500 / 230 kV transformer at Middle Fork and loop the South Hall – Oconee 500 kV T.L. • Required to support generation expansion in the central Georgia area.

  32. 2017 ITS-20 Expansion Item ITS-20 • Middle Fork – Thomson 500 kV Transmission Line • Construct a new 500 kV Transmission Line from Middle Fork – Thomson (approximately 110 miles) • Required to support generation expansion in the central Georgia area.

  33. 2017 ITS-21 Expansion Item ITS-21 • Hopewell – McGrau Ford 2nd 230 kV Line • Construct a second 230 kV Transmission Line between McGrau Ford and Hopewell. • This project alleviates thermal overloads on the Norcross – Ocee 230 kV T.L. and provides additional voltage support for the North Georgia area.

  34. 2017 ITS-22 Expansion Item ITS-22 • O'Hara 500 / 230 kV Transformer #2 Addition • Install a second 500 / 230 kV transformer at the O'Hara substation. • The loss of the 500 / 230 kV transformer at O'Hara causes Union City's 500 / 230 kV transformer to overload.

  35. 2017 ITS-23 Expansion Item ITS-23 • South Hall – Suwanee 230 kV Transmission Line • Construct 19 miles of 230 kV T.L. from South Hall to Suwanee. • The loss of Norcross – South Hall 500 kV T.L. overloads the South Hall – Shoal Creek 230 kV T.L.

  36. 2018 ITS-24 Expansion Item ITS-24 • East Walton – South Hall 500 kV Transmission Line • Construct a 500 kV T.L. from South Hall to East Walton. • Required to support generation expansion in the central Georgia area.

  37. 2018 ITS-25 Expansion Item ITS-25 • Sharon Springs – Suwanee 230 kV Transmission Line • Construct 14.5 miles of 230 kV T.L. from Sharon Springs to Suwanee. • For the loss of the Norcross – South Hall 500 kV T.L., the South Hall – Spout Springs 230 kV T.L. becomes overloaded.

  38. 2018 ITS-26 Expansion Item ITS-26 • South Coweta – Yates 115 kV Transmission Line • Reconductor approximately 19 miles consisting of multiple sections of the South Coweta – Yates 115 kV T.L. • For the loss of either end of the South Coweta – Yates 115 kV T.L. with Yates unit #3 offline, sections of the South Coweta – Yates 115 kV T.L. become overloaded.

  39. 2019 ITS-27 Expansion Item ITS-27 • Blankets Creek – Holly Springs 115 kV Transmission Line • Construct a second Blankets Creek – Holly Springs 115 kV T.L. • For the loss of the Blankets Creek – Holly Springs 115 kV T.L., sections of the Holly Springs – Nelson 115 kV T.L. become overloaded.

  40. 2019 ITS-28 Expansion Item ITS-28 • Commerce Primary – Middle Fork 115 kV Transmission Line • Reconductor approximately 13.9 miles from Middle Fork to North Commerce Junction. • For the loss of the Middle Fork – South Hall 500 kV T.L. sections of the Commerce Primary – Middle Fork 115 kV Transmission Line will become overloaded.

Expansion Item W-1 2009 W-1 East Pelham 230/115 kV Project • East Pelham 230 / 115 kV substation in 2009 • New Ballentrae DS (East Pelham) – Double Oak Mountain 115 kV T.L. • New East Pelham – Alabaster SS 115 kVT.L. in 2010. • Upgrade Gaston – East Pelham 230 kV T.L. to 100° C operation in 2015.

  43. Expansion Item W-2a 2009 W-2a Carriere SW 230 / 115 kV Substation Project • Construct approximately 18.4 miles of 230 kV line and a new 230 / 115 kV Carriere Switching Station located ~ 5 miles north of Picayune 115 kV substation. • Phase in project over time. (2009-2010-2011)

Expansion Item W-3a 2010 W-3a • McIntosh – C.A.E.S. 115 kV T.L. • Reconductor 1.74 mile McIntosh – C.A.E.S. bundled (2) 795 26/7 ACSR 115 kV TL with bundled (2) 795 26/7 ACSS @ 160°C design. • Loop Barry S.P. – McIntosh T.S. “B” 115 kV TL into C.A.E.S. and reconductor this TL from C.A.E.S. to McIntosh T.S. with bundled (2) 795 26/7 ACSS @ 160°C design (1.74 miles). • Upgrade the C.A.E.S. and Barry S.P. “B” 115 kV terminals at McIntosh T.S. to 3000 A. Replace main bus at McIntosh T.S. with 2 – 1590 AAC.

  46. Expansion Item W-3b 2010 W-3b • McIntosh – C.A.E.S. 115 kV T.L. • With the new addition of generation at C.A.E.S. and a Washington County #1offline scenario and loss of West McIntosh – C.A.E.S. 115 kV T.L., the McIntosh T.S. – C.A.E.S. 115 kV T.L. exceeds its thermal rating.

  49. Expansion Item W-6 2011 W-6 • Smith – Laguna Beach 115 kV T.L. • Convert the Smith – Laguna Beach 115 kV T.L. to 230 kV operation. • With Crist unit #7 offline, the loss of the Laguna Beach 230 / 115 kV transformer causes the Smith – Laguna Beach 115 kV to exceed its thermal limit.

  50. Expansion Item W-7 2012 W-7 • Mobile Area 115 kV Networking • Construct a new Switching Station. • Create ten new network 115 kV T.L. in the Mobile Metro Area.
