  3. 2012 5YTP Start cases summary • Summary of Start Cases • Reserve margins are tight due to 90th percentile load • Analysis split into 2 regions for 2013, 2015 and 2017 (based on weather zones) with base case created for each region • North/ North Central/ West/ Far West • South/ South Central/ East/ Coast • Mothball Generation activated in 2015 and 2017 cases • Mothball units de-activated in each individual zone during reliability analysis of that zone • Table below summarizes the cases with these changes to load and generation RPG Meeting

  4. 2012 5YTP Reliability Analysis • Start Cases & Reliability Analysis • Updated start cases (2013, 2015 & 2017) posted at the POI on July 5th • SCOPF & CA completed for start cases (2013, 2015 & 2017) • Reliability analysis results for the start cases sent to the TO’s on July 6th • Next Steps • Work with Transmission Owners to review start case results (in the next three weeks) • Perform Reliability analysis to identify initial reliability projects for N-1 • Perform G-1 & N-1analysis • Perform project back-out to validate results • Determine final set of projects and complete Reliability analysis (target Sept.3) RPG Meeting
