  1. The movie poster of Rabbit Proof Fence Gabby and Kayle

  2. A list of everything I see • -Three children (girls) • -Bird • -The fence • -The outback • -Title: Rabbit Proof Fence • -Subtitle: 1500 miles from home • -Dusty and dark sky

  3. What is foregrounded? • What's foregrounded? • -The two girls that survived the whole journey • -The Fence because its made to look like its an obstacle that they have to overcome along the journey. • -Subtitle: 1500 miles from home • -The bird stands out because they have made it black on the dusty light coloured sky • -Title is white so stands out: Rabbit Proof Fence

  4. What is silenced? • What's silenced? • -The one of the girls that died along the way. She is silenced because she was a part of the movie at the start but even though she didn’t survive getting home, she shouldn’t be forgotten about. • -The outback is made to look dusty and light so it doesn’t take away the focus on the girls. This also gives a more dramatic emotion to the movie poster.

  5. Statements about what is foregrounded • 5 statements about the foregrounded objects: • -The two girls that survive are more noticeable than the girl that was killed along the journey because it makes us feel sorry for the girl that was killed and how the other two had to go on without her. • -The fence is positioned in front of the girls walking towards us because it wants us to think that they have no way of getting home and something always gets in their way. • -The subtitle '1500 miles from home' is black and bold at the top of the poster as if in the sky. It makes us feel that it is almost impossible to get home because you feel so lost. • -The bird is there to make us feel that their instinct will guide them home. • -The title 'Rabbit Proof Fence' makes us feel that it is hard to get over obstacles in life.
