1. What Is The Largest Part OfThe Brain? Your brain is the processor that allows your perception of the world. We’re in a constant cycle of figuring things out. 2. The most advanced contraption in the known universe is found in the 3.3 pound blob of jello-like material swashing around in your head. And at 80% of your overall brainvolume, your cerebrum is the largest part of this. So, it’s the cerebrum that is both the largest and smartest part of yoursuperbrain. At 85% of the entire brain’s weight, this supercomputer is an efficient network made mostly of greymatter. The cerebrum is home to many of the 86 billion neurons found in the grey matter of our brains. Known to many as the “seat of consciousness,” it’s where your perception, memory and data from the senses come together to make sense ofeverything. Structurally, the cerebrum, the biggest part of the forebrain, can be split into 2 hemispheres. And each of these 2 hemisphere’s are further divides into 4lobes. The four lobes of the brainare the frontal, parietal, occipital and temporallobes: 1. FrontalLobe Responsible for: movement andspeech. Here’s the hub of your personality, planning and decisionmaking. You can find the frontal lobe at the front of the brain, and it’s the largest of all of the lobes. As well as attention, impulse control and problem solving, it handles memory, motor skills and speech. Without it you’d have no inhibitions or moralcompass.

3. ParietalLobe Responsible for: sensing,touch. Positioned just behind the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe helps interpret sensory data from the other parts of the brain. Contained here is the somatosensory cortex, which processes touch and bodysensations. OccipitalLobe Responsible for: visualprocessing. This is your visual processing center. Located in the back of the brain, the occipital lobe is involved in reading, color recognition, and other visual information from the retina. Visual memory is also processedhere. TemporalLobe Responsible for: hearing,memory.

4. The temporal lobe handles visual and verbal memory as well as interpreting reactions and emotions. The temporal lobe allows you to recognize faces, process language and speech. It’s home to structures of the limbic system such as the amygdala, and hippocampus. These also organize impulses and aid in auditoryperception. What Is The Difference Between The Cerebrum AndThe CerebralCortex? The outer crust of the cerebrum is the cerebralcortex. It’s a 2-4mm layer of grey matter that holds 10% of all the neurons of your brain. Here, sensory and motor data is processed to enable our sense of consciousness. And at over 10 billion nerve cells, the peaks and valleys of the cerebral cortex are the processing powerhouse of your cerebrum. WhatIsTheLargestAndMostComplexPartOfTheHuman Brain?
