  3. Appearances • it can be twice as large as a house cat • Weight- 26 pounds • Length- 6 feet • Color- coffee brown, black • Other- curved claws, sharp teeth, hairless pads on feet, heavy tail

  4. Eating habits • Kinds of food- lemurs, field mice, rodents and birds • How they get food- chase it down • It is a carnivore

  5. Behaviors and other interesting facts • # of babies- 1 to 6 at a time • How babies cared for- The Fossa’s babies stay with mother for one month then leave • Protection- their sharp claws • They hibernate
