  2. Preliminaries (2/18) • Skim pp. 651-654 in the book and on a new sheet of paper, make a list of all of the characters we read about so far.

Objective • Be able to summarize The Odyssey in order to be able to write a constructed response on heroism. • QNTs (through 2/19) • Class Reading and Drawing (2/20) • 3 colors • Re-telling of the plot (with line numbers) • Event before • Event indicated by your picture • Event after • Dramatic Transform

  4. “I Am Laertes’ Son” • Capture the action of the following through QNTs: • Section Setting • Ody’s. encounter with Calypso (p.656)

  5. Preliminaries (2/19) • Update the characters list you created in yesterday’s pre-class with descriptions for each character. You must have 1 phrase for each character. (5 words max).

Take a QNT. • Listen to your teacher read p. 691 for 1 min. • Count the number of lines read. • Divide into pairs. • Read pp. 692 and 693. • Test Practice: transform pp. 691-693 into a dialogue.

  22. Preliminaries (3/10) • Turn to page 703. • Read the italicized print. • Read line #1227 silently. • Write a QNT.

  23. “Death at the Palace” (3/10) • Take out on the “7-step constructed response” handout you received at the end of February. • Read the following lines: • 1246-1249 • 1254-1256 • Complete step #3 on the sheet by taking a QNT on each set of lines. • Complete step #4 on whether Ody. was acting heroically.
