  1. When you look back at the past, don’t stare.

  2. Courage is doing what you’re afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you’re scared.

  3. Everyone loses when they play the Blame Game.

  4. When an archer misses the mark, he turns and looks for the fault within himself. Failure to hit the bull’s eye is never the fault of the target. To improve your aim – improve yourself.

  5. Unrealistic expectations are resentments under construction.

  6. Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.

  7. The most significant battles are waged within the self.

  8. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God... Eph. 2:18

  9. Man’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.

  10. Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.

  11. I am the Door

  12. Forgiveness is a gift that you give to another andyourself.

  13. It takes courage to push yourself to places that you have never been before, to test your limits… to break through barriers.

  14. We did the best we knew how to do. When we knew better; we did better. Maya Angelou

  15. It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without also helping himself.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

  16. Progress always involves risk; you can’t steal second base and keep your foot on first.

  17. Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It’s OK. If you’re not failing to some degree, you’re not growing.

  18. People with goals succeed because they know where they’re going.

  19. Trust in God… and Tie the Camel!

  20. Angels live in wooden houses and in brick ones they eat shrimp or turkey breast on rye yet their eyes did not leave us not that day or any day thereafter Not even here amidst the earth's most precious gifts - the sun at our backs and the waves telling us of places not yet seen. They've seen the same things from behind a soulful glance They've seen your heart's handwriting here on the pages of a notebook It means to me the world that you read this and sit with me awhile I was torn as these pages are torn It was their breath that carried me It was their torch that kept lighting up your soul and mine February 6, 2007 • Dedicated to the presenter couples • Retrouvaille San Jose • January 2007 • Jolon & Mike • Marta & Fernando • Kim & Jerry
