  2. Gay pride Gay pride is a wonderful way for the community of Gays And Lesbians as well as bisexuals and transgender to come and feel at home, to know that they will not be judged and can be who the want any way they want to be. 3. Before judgment ascended Among the many historical figures many were stated as having had relations with others of the same sex, sometimes being exclusively or even when they were with someone of the opposite sex, while many others were just recorded of having relations with the opposite sex. Although there are many instances of same sex couples and relations thought out almost all ancient civilizations. The LGBT community has been recorded in almost all cultures in history. In Africa there was a practice where woman would have long term relationships with other woman which was called “motsoalle.” As well as male Azande warriors from the northern Congo they would routinely take on boy-wives ranging from ages 12-20 years of age, who would take on the roles of normal wives by helping with house cleaning, and sexual acts as well but this practice died out around the early 20th century. As well as in Ancient India through the Hindu and Vedic texts there are many different descriptions of saints, demi gods, and the supreme lord transcending the gender norms and manifesting multiple combinations of sex and gender. There are so many different poetry stories of same sex depictions and even among gods and goddesses.

  4. Timeline • Pre History • From 9660 to 5000 BCE • Mesolithic rock art in Sicily shows phallic male figures in pairs ranging from hunters, acrobats, and males in acts of homosexuality. • Antiquity • From 7th century BCE • Sappho, A lyric. A poet who was Greek was born between 630-612 BCE on the island of Lesbos, She was included in the Alexandrians top nine lyric poets, She was famous for her lesbian themes which gave her name and that of her home land the very definition of Lesbianism. • 1st century • Warren Cup is made. It is a roman silver drinking cup which was decorated in relief with two images of male same-sex acts • 98’ Trajan a most beloved roman emperor began his rain, he was very well known for his homosexuality and his fondness of young males. • 3rd century • 218’ The Emperor Elagabalus began his rain, in which time he married a man named Zoticus who was an athlete from Smyrna in a lavish ceremony at Rome amid the rejoicing of the public.

  5. Misconceptions • So many people have many misconceptions about the LGBT community. Here are a few • They Choose to be what they are. • They don’t know if they are gay, lesbian, or transgender when they are young. • They are terrible parents, because they cant give the child the love a mother gives them ( If it’s a gay couple) and cannot give the love and lessons a father can give ( if they are lesbian). There are so many stories from children, who are apart of the LGBT community and many have told that they knew what they were when they were just small children, it is not a choice it is who they are born to be, they cannot change who they love or want to be more than we can. These children are growing up learning that what they feel inside either for another of the same sex or maybe just that they are not in the right body is wrong, and they feel shame because of this and feel as if they must hide there desires to please others even if it mean sacrificing there own happiness.

  6. Coming out • According to statistics 1 in every 10 people is apart of the LGBT community, and approximately 1 in 4 families has an immediate family member who is LGBT. • Many Kids are terrified to come out to their families, they don’t know what the response is sadly more often then not the reaction is always negative which is why 40 percent of the homeless youth is LGBT youth. • Here is An article to help show some more facts on this. http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2012/07/americas-shame-40-percent-of-homeless-youth-are-lgbt-kids/ • According to the Gay bulling statistics Gay/lesbian teens are 2 to 3 times as likely to commit suicide then other youths. Around 30 percent of all completed suicides are related to sexual identity crisis. • Recent statistics show that students who do report harassment or bullying due to their sexuality, about one third of the school staff didn’t do a thing.

  7. Anti bullying programs • It Gets Better Is a program that helps the youth of the LGBT community know that they are not alone, and to make them feel like there is nothing wrong with them. This site gives other children from the LGBT community tell their stories and show how they overcame, their bullies and shame for who they are and realized they are pefect just the way they are. Even if you aren't apart of the LGBT community you can join the pledge and help others by showing that not everyone is as cruel as the next, or not as accepting. September 2010 Dan savage created a YouTube video with his partner Terry Miller to inspire hope for young people facing harassment. After many teens took their lives after the bullying and harassment in school they decided they wanted to be able to create a personal way for supporters everywhere to tell LGBT youth that is does get better.
