  2. Importanceof the CSDP-Module • Developed by EU (27 MS) • In AT only: • Integral part of Basic Officer Education • Evaluated by EU (ESDC) • Evaluation will be published in whole EU • Spearhead of the “Common Modules” • International participation • Students & Lecturers & Observers

  3. Workload • In total: 2 ECTS (= 50 WH) • for IDL & presence-phase& elaborations by Cadets: 1.5 ECTS (= 37.5 WH) • for major-/minor events: 0.5 ECTS (= 12.5 WH) • Everything is part of grading • Competences !!!

  4. 5 Phases • Preparation • e-mail-addresses, lists, etc. • IDL (e-learning) • Pre-condition for participation • Module itself • incl. entrance + exit tests + “observation” • Major & minor events • After action review

Phase 1)preparation • Excel-list of class (alphabetical order) to Col Dr. GELL TBD: 19th Oct., 2012 • Responsible Cadet: Hofer • Excel-list of names for major- and minor-events TBD: 25th Oct., 2012 • Major events  better grading! • EVERYBODY is to be on the list (1 Commander)! • Responsible Cadet: Krieg

Phase 1)preparation – major events • In-processing (airport + TMA + welcome package) Sunday, 2nd Dec. • “Integration sport competition” • Students’ party (+ reward of competition) • Visit to UNHQ Vienna • “Free activity on students’ plan” • Final Ceremony (knights’ hall) • Sightseeing in Vienna orbike skiing  Saturday, 8th Dec. • Out-processing (airport + TMA)  Sunday, 9th Dec. Coordination Meeting: NLT 22nd Nov 2012  proposal ASAP

Phase 1)preparation – minor events • “Buddy-system” (so far: 22 international students) • Introduction of lecturers+ picking up at MTH-place + lecture room + lunch etc. • Preparation of observation for syndicate work • 1 student = 1 observation paper • Preparation of syndicate rooms • Flip-chart papers, pens, computers, etc. • Aspern, Belgrad, EH Karl, Tegetthoff, Laudon, Andreas Hofer, + ? • Guided tour (castle)  4x

  8. Phase 1)preparation – minor events • DVD (briefings, pictures) for international guests • Final report (publication for News + EU) • Duty Officer (1 day – 1 duty officer) Coordination Meeting: NLT 22nd Nov 2012 proposal ASAPREADY to present !

  9. Phase 2)IDL (e-learning) • You will receive log-in data onto the e-mail-address you announced to Col Dr. GELL  by EU (ESDC) from Brussels • Learn whenever you want • You have to pass! (green light) • You can do it as often as you want (until you are positive) • Workflow ~ 7 hours • Without „green light“ no acceptance to the Module next year • IMPORTANT  Last possibility: 25th November, 2012(then the server will be closed)

  10. Phase 3)Module itself • Entrance test (computer-room) • Briefings by lecturers • Syndicate work + briefings by students (observation by instructors) • Major + minor events • Exit test (computer-room) • EVERYTHING is part of your grading(focus on competences)

  11. Phase 4)major- & minor-events • For each event there will be issued a goal • For each event: 1 commander and 1 deputy at least • Not necessary to invest money (e.g.: students’ party) • Conducting the event (reaching the goal) is part of grading

Phase 5)after action review • You will be issued with evaluation papers(1st day of the Module) • For easier calculation the same evaluation is to be done on the computer(last day of the Module) • 2 Austrian Students are to write a report • In English • Pictures • See “minor-events” • An evaluation report will be established by an expert from Brussels (ESDC) and will be published • Last one: Armis & Litteris 27 • This year: taking into account last year’s evaluation

Goalsin general • Integration of international students & lecturers • “Around the clock” • “mixed accommodation” concerning nationality • Avoid “national groups” • Presents to int’l students & lecturers (NOinvestments) • Talk in English! • Also within accommodation / during breaks • Increase of competences • Special knowledge incl. English language • Organisational skills • Intercultural competence • Etc. • Perfect sequence of the Module
