  3. At least 30 casualties were reported in Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Lai Chau provinces after prolonged rainfall and flooding.

  4. The casualties and property damage from flooding in the Vietnamese area bordering China was a consequence of torrential rain that hit southern China

  5. Heavy rains that began on Friday, October 1, swelled local rivers and streams, triggered landslides and floods that cut off roads, telecommunications and power supply in some areas, and destroyed fields of rice, corn and cassava.
