This interactive session will introduce you to BPM, compare BPM with traditional paper-based processes, and explore how you can leverage BPM to automate record classification and disposition. The session will also explore practical tips to make your BPM implementation successful and help you identify common pitfalls. CUNNINGHAM, CRM • Comments: Objectives: 1) Learn how to partner with Information Technology/ Information Systems. 2) Identify key opportunities for significant cost reductions. 3) Understand how to integrate records management principles in the e-Records environment. April 2009 • Meeting Date April 14 (Cedar Rapids meeting) • Time of Day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) • Attendance #’s: Members & Non-Members 42- mostly local Cedar Rapids non-members • Topic: DISASTERS HAPPEN!! Lessons learned from the flood of 2008 • Speaker: Joan McCalmant, Linn County Recorder • Comments: Joan shared her experiences and lessons learned from the historic floods of 2008.   12. May 2009 • Spring Seminar Cancelled for lack of participation • Comments: Went to a ½ day seminar and still only had 9 peoples sign-up( 5 board members). Cost shouldn’t have been a factor as we were only charging $35.00. If doing a ½ day seminar might consider a mid –morning to early afternoon session as if people have to drive any distance an early AM start doesn’t work Elevating Leadership in the Rocky Mountains – ARMA 2009 – Central Iowa Chapter Report

June 2009 • Meeting Date June 17 • Time of Day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Late afternoon with ARMA Buck auction, elections and networking session also held • Attendance #’s: Members & Non-Members This was completed before the meeting • Topic: Don't Work for a Living P.L.A.Y. • Speaker: Steve Siemens • Comments: Tried something totally different and used a motivational speaker and non RM topic to get attendee’s thinking about personal and professional development Elevating Leadership in the Rocky Mountains – ARMA 2009 – Central Iowa Chapter Report

Good, Challenging & Different • What went really good this year • Increased membership in difficult economy • Board pulled together and chipped in during board members health scare • 50 attendee’s to a meeting - SharePoint • What really challenged the Board and/or Chapter this year • Board member attendance at board meetings • Spring seminar attendance – Ultimately cancelled • Consistent attendance at meetings-Especially previous regulars because of economic conditions • Thinking back what would the BOD or could the BOD have done different or would try next time?
