  2. Course Description

  3. This course introduces basic techniques and concepts necessary to effectively manage the limited financial resources while evaluate various investment opportunities. In this regard, students will learn the 4 principles of finance and apply them to value securities, decide whether to accept or reject projects, and forecast streams of cash flows. Moreover, through intensive applications, this course aims to instill the idea that finance is all around us and that financial decisions (whatever complex they might be perceived) stem from simple rational, common sense sets of basics.

  4. Pre-requisites • A passing grade from the above mentioned courses is a pre-requisite for passing this course: • BIM307 : Calculus • THM313 : Hospitality Management Accounting • BIM 191: PC General Applications I

  6. Grading • In-Class Attendance: 5% • In-Class Participation: 5% • Assignments: 25 % • Midterm Exam: 30 % • Final Exam: 35 %

Things to Remember • All Students should have an undergraduate e-mail address (i.e.…@ug.bilkent.edu.tr ) along with an SRS Password. • Maximum 25% Absenteeism! • Come Prepared for Chapters that will be taught. • Late Homework and/or Assignment  0! • Failing to attend 75 % of class sessions and / or totaling less than 35.75 / 65 (before final exam) would mean that student in question will NOT be allowed to be seated to Final Exam → FZ!
