Overview of 2008-09 Assessment Plan ACUITY Grades 3-8 Extended Day Program: • Three tests: • A = October 15 (Math) & October 16 (Reading) • B = January 13 (Math) & January 14 (Reading) • C = Two month window--1st week in March to May 14 • Multiple Choice + Open-ended Questions • CTB scores Open-Ended items  NO TEACHER SCORING • Materials will arrive 1st week of March and schools can test from the day they receive the materials up to May 14. See details in slide 6 • This round will also have separate answer sheets for Math & Reading

Overview of 2008-09 Assessment Plan ACUITY Grades 1 & 2 Extended Day Program • Two Acuity test administrations: • January 13 (Math) & January 14 (Reading) • Two month window starting in March (same as for grades 3-8) • Students follow teacher directions and respond in the test booklet by circling the correct choice • Completed booklets will be sent back via UPS along with completed answer sheets for grades 3-8 • Students’ responses will be transcribed by the testing company and scored

Overview of 2008-09 Assessment Plan ACUITY Grade 9, Strategic and Intensive Interventions • Two Acuity test administrations: • January 13 (Math) & January 14 (Reading) • Two month window starting in March (see next slide for details) One test booklet for both Math and Reading Separate answer sheets for Math (blue) and Reading (green) Testing coordinators must inform Uma about the testing dates via e-mail

Last Administration of Acuity • In view of the fact that most Extended Day Programs end by March 12 and the PSSA Reading/Math begin on March 16, following adjustment has been made to the last administration of Acuity. • Materials will arrive in schools in the week of 2nd March • Schools can start testing as soon as they receive the materials and send the completed answer sheets (for grades 3-9) and completed test booklets (for grades 1-2 only) via UPS as soon as they complete testing.

  7. Last Administration of Acuity • Last date to ship the completed answer sheets/test booklets via UPS is May 15. • Following must be brought to the regional offices by May 20: (1) blank answer sheets for grades 3-9, (2) blank test booklets for grades 1-2, and (3) all the test booklets for grades 3-9

EAP Professional Development • The Lead Teachers at this workshop • Will attend the 2-hour professional development sessions • Will train other EAP teachers back at school (grades 1-8) • Dates • September (23, 24,25) • November (18,19,20) • February (10,11,12) • Re-delivery at school (grades 1-8) – approximately 1 hour • High school test coordinators are also recommended to conduct turn-around training depending on the availability of funds at the school

EAP Professional Development • Passwords • Everyone attending this training will be given the School Admin Log In Information • You can use this to look up other educators’ usernames and passwords for distribution at your school • You can use this to assist you with your own training • If your school does NOT have educator information loaded in Acuity • Teachers can log in using a GENERIC teacher role (which you can look up as the school admin) • Username: staffxxxstaff • Password: (acuity generated)
