  1. CHAPTER 4 SYSTEM OF BODY ELECTRONIC LECTURER NAME: MR. KHAIRUL AKMAL BIN NUSI

  2. The operation of the central locking system component • The Central Locking System provides locking/ unlocking of the entire vehicle from one central exterior point. • From the driver’s door, passenger’s door or luggage compartment a lock/unlock request will lock/unlock all exterior doors, luggage compartment and the fuel filler flap

  3. Principle Component • Actuator The function is to moving the lock bar at the door car. (look picture)

  4. Example of actuator

  5. Control box and fob

  6. Control box The function is to control the movement of actuator • Fob Lock or unlock the car from outside by driver.

  7. POWER WINDOW • The power window system is the system to open and close the windows by switch operation. • The power window motor rotates when the power window switch is operated. • The power window motor revolution is then changed to up-and-down motion by the window regulator to open or close the window

  8. Operation power window The window lift on most cars uses a really neat linkage to lift the window glass while keeping it level. A small electric motor is attached to a worm gear and several other spur gears to create a large gear reduction, giving it enough torque to lift the window. Power windows is that they cannot be forced open, the worm gear in the drive mechanism takes care of this. Many worm gears have a self-locking feature because of the angle of contact between the worm and the gear. The worm can spin the gear, but the gear cannot spin the worm friction between the teeth causes the gears to bind. The linkage has a long arm, which attaches to a bar that holds the bottom of the window. The end of the arm can slide in a groove in the bar as the window rises.

  9. Manual open/close function When the power window switch is pushed or pulled halfway, the window opens or closes until the switch is released. • One touch auto open/close function When the power window switch is pushed or pulled fully, the window fully opens or closes. • Window lock function When the window lock switch is turned on, the opening and closing of all windows except the driver’s window is disabled. • Jam protection function This function automatically stops the power window and moves it downward about 50 mm if foreign matter gets caught in the window during one touch auto close operation.

  10. Operation power window components WINDOWS REGULATOR The window regulator is the vehicle component that raises and lowers the window glasses. This allows both the vehicle driver and the passengers to raise or lower the window whenever they need to or feel to. Access to the window regulator of a particular vehicle window is usually given to the person seating close to the windows. However, new window winding mechanisms allow the driver to have full control over all the windows of the vehicle.

  11. Vehicle safety systemPrecrash system: A precrash system is an automobile safety system designed to reduce the severity of an accident. Also known as forward collision warning systems they use radar and sometimes laser sensors to detect an imminent crash. Depending on the system they may warn the driver, precharge the brakes, inflate seats for extra support, move the passenger seat, position head rests to avoid whip lash, tension seat belts and automatically apply partial or full braking to minimize impact.

  12. SEAT BELT A seat belt, sometimes called a safety belt, is a safety harness designed to secure the occupant of a vehicle against harmful movement that may result during a collision or a sudden stop. A seat belt reduces the likelihood and severity of injury in a traffic collision by stopping the vehicle occupant from hitting hard against interior elements of the vehicle or other passengers (the so-called second impact), by keeping occupants positioned correctly for maximum benefit from the airbag, if the vehicle is so equipped, and by preventing occupants being ejected from the vehicle.

  13. Side Mirror

  14. A side mirror is a mirror found on the exterior of motor vehicle. • helping the driver see areas behind and to the sides of the vehicle, outside of the driver perpheral vision(in the blind spot).

  15. Side Mirror Adjustment • The two side mirror are adjusted through the special swith which controls the two electric motor located inside each mirror(one motor turns the mirror on horizontally and vertically). • A single switch operates both the left and right mirror,as a selector makes it possible to switch from one to the other.

  16. Component Switch adjustment Fuse box

  17. Mirror Heating The function of mirror heating: • Safety equipment to secure driver’s rear view under bad weather. • This mirror heater is used to remove frost, water drop and moisture on a surface of rear view mirror.
