CAT-iq : Certification status • CAT-iq 2.0 certification program, fully running • Full technical specifications for certification are available to members and non members in the CAT-IQ section of the DECT forum download area. • Product listing can be found on www.cat-iq.org/certification.aspx • 14 devices since 2011 • 6 new products in 2012 • 2 Gateways • 1 VoIP fixed device • 3 Handsets • One new CAT-iq 1.0 Fixed part in 2012 • Expected : XXX more this coming months (pending answers)

  5. CAT-iq 2.0: Status and challenges • No more update on Specification or test scripts expected after the last one mid 2012. All new evolution willl be served in CAT-iq 2.1 • As now CAT-iq 2.0 is maturing, and we have certified products being deployed, consideration needs to be given to the handling of firmware upgrades on certified products. • Proposed re-certification based on self declaration and self tests to the notify body • Balanced between maintaining high quality on IOP and weight of the process (test and costs) DF Partner DOSCH&AMAND for Certification Test Systems

CAT-iq 2.1: Standardization status • Main workpackages • SMS • Phonebook • Voice Mail • Green Modes • Security • Diagnostics & Network information • CAT-iq 2.1 Standard is 90% readyby ETSI & Special Task forcefundedbythe DF in 2012. Completion estimated in Q1 2013 • CAT-iq 2.1 Certificationprogram • Audio & Radio Frequencyspecificationremainsidenticalfrom CAT-iq 2.0 • Awaiting completion of the ETSI standard specification for the Protocol • DF partner DOSCH&AMAND committed to develop • the protocol tester as soon as specification and test case defined DA1220-B44

CAT-iq 3.0: SUOTA status • Standardize the http data link between the handset and an internet server, describing interactions with the base station for Software upgrade. • The 2009 ETSI standard to be updated in H2 2013 • Feedback & contribution welcome to help this process. • DF will help funding a task force • Test case needed for CAT-iq 3.0 to be built this year with potential certification process in 2014. • Challenges : • Various configuration & Network implementation within carrier • Freedom ofinterpretationfor SUOTA isquite large • Alreadydeployedproduct in large volumes • IOP testing for SUOTA to be planned in 2013 DA1220-B45

CAT-iq in US DA1220-B34 • Dect Forum in agreement with Cablelabs defined the US certification for CAT-iq 2.0 US • Same audio specification as Europe version • Same Protocol specification as Europe version • FCC radio specificaiton for DECT • + long slot from Europe with ETSI channel numbering and frequency shift. • General call for Golden Sample launched this January • Target certification process rooling by H1 2013 • Cablelabs are preparing the US market • Adopting CAT-iq 2.0/2.1 for packet cable specifications and carrier RFQs • Driving IOP Plugtests • HD Voice is key element in Marketing Strategies • HD Voice Logo for non CAT-iq device (pstn wideband) • Handover from CAT-iq WG to CAT-iq US may will be proposed in 2013

CAT-iq Enterprise :opening to different market • CAT-iq first purpose is to bring interoperability in Home environment & push by operator market for development of wireless voice over ip • The enterprise market raise interest to get certification to help marketing visibility and ensure quality of product. • A sub group from Cat-iq Working group was created to address specificities of the market : feature adapted to each business type, limited interoperability of value added service, frequent software upgrade. • Specifications and expectation will be addressed for submission to DF board approval in 2013 Enterprise

Case study for applying CAT-iq 2.0 certification • To get a product in the Europeanmarketwith the CAT-iq 2.0 certification, the followingapproval and test must beconducted: • All CAT-iq 2.0 tests must be passed with the same HW and SW version which will be listed later in the official CAT-iq 2.0 web site • It is one the manufacturer responsability to conduct the mandatory relevant approval to get the CE/FCC/UL mark(canbedifferent HW or SW version). Case study for applying CAT-iq 2.0 certification • Upon Positive test result , the CAT-iq Qualification Body will be interface between the applicant and the DF to get formal certification after paying applicable fees • Original license • 3,000 CHF Per set • 2,000 CHF Per single device • Re-testing license • 1,500 CHF re-testing per set • 1,000 CHF re-testing per single device • Product variant license • 1,000 CHF per variant • In-line upgrade license • 1,000 CHF re-testing per single device
