  1. Mobility Management The parking is full – what do we do? Project start: 14.03.06 Project end: 01.06.07

Main Project Targets • The project started because the carpark was full, but became very quickly a project with other targets as well: • To reduce negative environmental impact from car traffic • Support physical activity • Facilitate for walking, bicycling and public transport to and from work • Improve availability of parking for visitors and service users • Reduce the cost of parking Mobility Management

  3. Main Project Partners • To be able to accomplish the identified targets the following partners was included: • Local public transport company “Nettbuss” • The Municipality of Aust-Agder • The Local University (HIA) • LHL: Norwegian Lung and Heart Organisation Mobility Management

  4. Main Project Tools • Mobility Management: The local municipality had necessary competence on the framework “Mobility Management: how to limit use of cars in the city” • Dialog café: The local university had necessary tools for “Dialog café: How to involve everybody to find the best solutions” • Bus display: The local transport company had necessary competence on how to display the routes and departure times on internet • 10.000 steps: Norwegian initiative to get people to walk more using step counters • Cycling to work: Norwegian initiative to get people to cycle to work Mobility Management

  5. Main Project Results All personnel in the organisation is given the opportunity to sign a contract where they commit to use bike to and from work more than half of working days. For this they get economic support for bicycle and service up to 100 euro per year. Bicycle shed has been created to facilitate for bicycling. Mobility Management

  6. Main Project Results All personnel in the organisation was given the opportunity to sign a contract where they commit to walk or run more than half of working days. For this they get economic support for shoes etc. up to 100 Euro per year Mobility Management

  7. Main Project Results All personnel in the organisation is given the opportunity to get economic support for 30% of bus fair. An electronic display in the reception shows when the next bus depart, delays etc. Mobility Management

  8. Main Project Results Special parking spots close to the entrance was especially made to facilitate for those who was driving more that one in each car. Mobility Management

Sum up • The project gave us reduced need for parking but also: • Higher focus on promoting and supporting physical activity to increase quality of life • Use of partners in developing new methods and get better cooperation with the local community • Higher focus on involving everybody in finding and promoting the best solutions Mobility Management
