  2. Overview The purpose of this presentation is to create a positive working culture that limits exposure to risk for ourselves, our working colleagues and those who work around us. Disregard of the safety guidelines contained within this manual is likely to expose you or your colleagues to an unnecessary danger.

  3. RESPONSIBILITIES • It is the responsibility of all management to know and understand Medequip’s Health & Safety Policy so that they can fully implement and monitor our compliance. • It is also the responsibility of all employees to know and understand its contents, so that they are aware of the Company’s health and safety policies and its requirements. The absolute intention is to take all measures possible to avoid exposing us and colleagues to avoidable risks. • Disregard of these Health & Safety guidelines and the associated company safety rules will be regarded as an act of gross misconduct and following the company disciplinary procedures will lead to formal dismissal from the company.

  4. RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsibility clearly starts with the Managing Director, fully supported by other Directors. This responsibility cascades through to Regional or Contract Managers to Operations Managers and through to their own teams. It is a top to bottom responsibility. • If any individual observes or suspects a practice, procedure or development may cause or promote a danger or hazard to them or colleagues, they are obliged by law to alert and report the potential danger to his or her line manager immediately. Further that they must attempt to warn others by verbal or other means of the potential danger. This is a key element in the interpretation of the law. If you see a hazard then ensure you report it and alert your colleagues. If you can remove the hazard yourself then do so. (Box at top of staircase or obstacle in gangway)
