History ofTRUECOLORS • Hippocrates – 400 BC – four types: sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric, melancholic • Carl Jung – 1921 – personality/temperament differences fundamental for understanding human beings (4 types) • Myers-Briggs – 1950’s – 16 combinations to signify 4 characteristics of people – (letters) • David Keirsey – 1967 – four types- Please Understand Me • Don Lowry – 1978 – system/tool to apply “type” information to help real people in real situations
