  2. 3 APEX partners + host county • MPIfR: 50 % • ESO: 27 % • Onsala: 23 % • Chile: 10 % of total time → ESO share 24.3 % • No common APEX TAC, but 4 independent TACs. • Possibility of (large) proposals submitted to different partners. • ESO can access PI instruments (FLASH, APEX-SZ, CHAMP+) through explicit collaboration with the PI of the instrument (from MPIfR).

  3. ESO proposals Regular proposals: • Follow standard ESO deadlines (1 April & 1 October). • Next deadline: 1 April will offer APEX2a and FLASH. Science verification: • To test new facility instruments (e.g. LABOCA) and illustrate science than can be done with them. • No proprietary period. • In collaboration with other APEX partners. • Next call: LABOCA (no earlier than mid March).

  4. ESO proposals Delta calls: • Will be offered for facility instruments when they have been succesfully commissioned on sky. • Next: LABOCA (April?). Watch announcements on ESO homepage or subscribe to ALMA newsletter mailing list: http://www.eso.org/projects/alma/newsletter/ DDT (director’s discretionary time): • Targets of Opportunity (difficult to schedule on APEX) or very high impact science. • 2 nights per semester for ESO APEX time.
