How the song came to be! • Survival is a roots reggae album by Bob Marley & The Wailers released in 1979 and is the first Bob Marley album not to be released on the Island imprint Tuff Gong. • Bob Marley & The Wailers were a Jamaican reggae, aka and rock steady band formed by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer in 1963.

More info on the writers… • Peter Tosh, born Winston Hubert McIntosh (19 October1944 – 11 September 1987), was a Jamaican reggae musician who was a major member of the musical band The Wailers (1963-1974), and who afterward had a successful solo career as well as being a promoter of Rastafari.
