Project Development Process (PDP) Structures
PDP – Three Project Levels • Major Project ~ 14 Steps • Minor Project ~ 10 Steps • Minimal Project ~ 5 Steps
PDP - Major Project Level • Major Investment Study • New interchange • Multiple alternatives • Corridor type projects • Large amounts of ROW • Highway on new location
Major PDP ~ Step 7 1 Projects with non-standard railing types, non-redundant designs and fracture critical members require OSE approval 2 Prefabricated structure types require OSE approval
Major PDP ~ Step 9 3Projects with non-redundant designs & fracture critical members require OSE approval 4Projects with special designs for prefabricated structure types require OSE approval
PDP - Minor Project Level • Bridge replacements, resurfacing (with drainage), and safety projects • Projects may include ROW, utility relocations
Minor PDP ~ Step 3 1 Projects with non-standard railing types, non-redundant designs and fracture critical members require OSE approval 2 Prefabricated structure types require OSE approval
Minor PDP ~ Step 5 3Projects with non-redundant designs and fracture critical members require OSE approval 4Projects with special designs for prefabricated structure types require OSE approval
PDP - Minimal Project Level • Minor rehabilitation projects that do not alter highway cross section or geometry • No ROW • Minimal impacts to utilities • No impacts to environmental resources Examples: bridge painting, deck overlays, scupper installations, barrier facings, concrete sealing, partial depth repairs, etc…
