  3. Teacher – Online PDP Before starting a PD Plan, a teacher should: • Have a login to PDE3 • Know who your principal is • Know who your designee is • Beneficial to work with your designee to draft out your PD Plan Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  4. Accessing the Online PD Plan Point browser to PDE3 website, https://pde3.k12.hi.us • For User ID type in: • First and Last Name • Employee ID • For Password type in • Lotus Notes Web Mail • Password Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  5. Select “HQ PD Plan” tab. If you are unable to see the ‘”HQ PD Plan” tab, contact the HQ office at (808) 586-4077 or email HQT@notes.k12.hi.us. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  6. On the “My Plans” tab, the teacher starts his/her plan. If you are unable to see the ‘Start’ button, contact the HQ office at (808) 586-4077 or email HQT@notes.k12.hi.us. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  7. There is also a “Plan Participation” tab. This is for designees and principals to review and approve teachers’ plans. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  8. Teacher – Start the plan On the “My Plans” tab, the teacher starts his/her plan for the first time by clicking on the “Start” button. If you are unable to see the ‘Start’ button, contact the HQ office at (808) 586-4077 or email HQT@notes.k12.hi.us. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  9. Teacher – Add Your Designee In this step, you will allow the designee to view the plan. Under the “Program Access” section, click the “New User” button next to “Grant Access to your Plan.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  10. Teacher – Add Your Designee • Enter the First Name and Last Name of your designee, then press “Search.” • Check the box next to name of the designee. • Click on “Add Selected Users.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  11. Teacher – Add Your Designee The designee’s name will appear. You can “Add” another person to view the plan or remove this person if this is not the correct person and “Add” the right one. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  12. Teacher – Add Your Designee The designee receives an e-mail informing him/her that they have been added to the plan. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  13. Teacher – Add Your Principal In this step, you will add your Principal to your plan. Click on the “Manage” button. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  14. Teacher – Add Your Principal On the “HQ PD Plan-Add Your Principal” display, click on “Add New member” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  15. Teacher – Add Your Principal • On the “Manage Plan Group” display: • - Enter the First Name and Last Name of your principal, then press “Search.” • Check the box next to the name of the principal. • Click on “Add Selected Users.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

Teacher – Add Your Principal • On the “Manage Plan” screen, you are able to: • Remove the current principal member, if this is not the correct principal. • Add a new principal. • Once the correct principal is listed, to complete this step, you must click on “Submit.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  17. Teacher – Add Your Principal This step is now completed. It is date and time stamped. The “Actions” button allows you to View your principal. You are now ready to Manage your “Teacher Professional Development Plan.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  18. Teacher – Teacher Professional Development Plan To access your PD Plan, click on the “Actions” button and select “Manage.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  19. Teacher – Teacher Professional Development Plan Fill in the areas on the HQ PD Plan presented by selecting from the drop-down fields (required fields) andentering information. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  20. Teacher – Save the PD Plan • You can save your plan at any time and go back into it later, or have your designee review it. • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select “Save.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  21. Teacher – Save the PD Plan If the required “I agree” box is not checked, a warning message is displayed. You will still be allowed to save your plan and edit it later. Click on “OK” to save your plan and edit it later. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  22. Teacher – Save the PD Plan • Scroll to the top of the screen. You will be presented with the option to: • Go “Back” to the main menu, • “Edit” the saved plan, or • “Delete” the current plan and start over. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

Teacher – Add a Comment • When you are on the “Manage Plan” display you can add comments for your designee and/or principal. • Click on the “New Comment” button in the “Program Comments” section • The “Add Comment” pop-up is displayed. Enter comments. • Click the “Add Comment” button to save the comment which displays on the “Program Comments” section. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  24. Teacher – Complete & submit the plan If you are not currently in the Teacher Professional Development Plan, selecting the “Actions” and “Manage” buttons allow you edit your plan. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  25. Teacher – Complete & submit the plan Update any information. Check the “I agree” box and click on “Save.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  26. Teacher – Complete & submit the plan Scroll to the top of the screen. When you are ready to submit the plan to your principal, click on the “Actions” button and select “Submit.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  27. Teacher – Complete & submit the plan The status now shows as “Completed” and the “Actions” button shows you can only “View” the plan. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  28. Teacher – How to access a plan that was started When you need to access a plan you started prior to submitting: Click on the “HQ PD Plan” tab. On the “My Plans” tab, click on “Options” and select “Edit” to access the steps of your plan. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  29. Principal & Designee – online PDP “Plan Participation” tab displays plans for designees to view and principal to review. “Current Step – Principal Activity Review” and “Status - Pending Signoff” show what PD Plans principal needs to review.

  30. Principal – online PDP Click on the arrow next to the Plan Owner’s name display Options. Select “Edit.”

  31. Click the “Actions” button and select “Manage” to review the plan.

Principal - Manage PDP • Review the details of the teacher’s PDP (Core Content Area and Grade Span) To approve and complete the plan: • In ‘Principal Certification’, check ‘I agree’ • Enter a value in ‘Resource Allocation’ • ‘Accept ’ the plan which completes the process To reject the plan: • ‘Reject’ the plan ANDselect ‘Actions’, ‘Send Back’ to send it back to the teacher

  33. Under “Core Content Area & Grade Span” review the details and comments of the teacher’s PD Plan.

  34. TO APPROVE AND COMPLETE THE PLAN: Click on “New” in “Principal Certification,” Check the ‘I agree’ box to approve the plan; Enter an Amount Allocated and Save.

  35. 4. Select “Accept” which electronically signs, dates and completes the plan. “Actions- Submit” sends the plan forward for OHR Review “Actions – Send Back” send the plan back to the teacher This electronically signs, dates and completes the plan

  36. Principal Activity Review is completed.

  37. TO REJECT AND SEND BACK THE PLAN TO THE TEACHER: Select ‘Reject’ under ‘No Signatures.’ Scroll to the top of the screen; Select ‘Actions’ and ‘Send Back.’

  38. The following messages are displayed. Click “OK” on both to reject the plan.

  39. When a plan is rejected, enter “New Comment” describing why plan was rejected.

  41. Teacher – When a plan is rejected • Access the plan: select the “HQ PD Plan” tab, click on Options and select “Edit.” Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  42. Teacher – When a plan is rejected - Check the “Program Comments.” - On Step 2 in the “Program Activities” section, click on “Actions” and select “Manage.” This allows you to edit the plan and make the necessary changes. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

Teacher – When a plan is rejected • Edit the plan and make the necessary changes to the plan • Follow the steps outlined in “Teacher – Complete and Submit the plan”, pages 26 – 30 • Verify the “I agree” box is checked. If it is not, check it. • Save the plan. • Scroll to the top of the screen and submit the plan again to the principal. Proprietary Material - Hawaii Department of Education

  44. Designee – Online PDP Click on the arrow next to the Plan Owner’s name display Options. Select ‘Edit.’

  45. Designee – View online PDP Click on ‘Actions’ ‘View’ next to Teacher Professional Development Plan to access the plan.
